It looked cool and it's what most casual people know Scorpion and Sub-zero as, Which is enemies.

Is it stupid? Yes.

But yet again we are talking here about the same team who made Kuai Liang a full human again. Stupidness is part of the writing in MKX.

Maybe possessed Subby may do something horrible to Scorpion in the comic that we don't know about yet.

Its always possible that there could be a Bi-Han alternate for Sub-Zero, like in MK9, or how John Stewart was an alt for Hal Jordon/Green Lantern in Injustice.

I'm sure there is a reason for this dialogue being what it is.

I mean I'm pretty sure Scorpion thinks everyone in creation had something to do with his family and clans' murder.

To be fair, that was the first footage shown. It might have been done on purpose to throw us off the story.

Then again, the new timeline seems to do away with Scorpion dying during mythologies and making it a straight attack from the Lin Kuei that burned down his village and killed everyone. Just because Scorpion is now human(or at least in control of his emotions) doesn't mean he's ok with Sub-Zero. That hasn't been resolved yet.

Don't put so much stock into the intros. A lot of them are going to seem forced...or just flat out weird.

But with this particular one, I'm thinking it's because the average casual player will still see Subby and Scorpion as rivaled enemies, regardless of what we've learned in the comics, or story mode. It's always been that way, and there will always be players who play just to play, and won't put much interest in the story itself. It'll still come down to the basics -

Liu Kang - Hero/Champion
Sub-Zero/Scorpion - Rival ninjas
Jax - Metal Arms
Kung Lao - Hat guy
Raiden - Lightning hat guy
Baraka - Arm Blades
Kitana/Mileena - female Scorpion/Subby

Yadda, yadda....

And Rain- Purple prince from the heavens.

Isn't Sub Zero's answer something about how he grows tired of proving his innocence? Or something like that?? I really can't remember.

My guess is that when Hanzo goes into full hate filled rage Scorpion mode he can't completely control himself. So if somebody comes up to him dressed like the murderer of his family and clan shit will hit the fan.
