I think it'd be cool if they'd take out most characters (at least for this game) and only have about 9 or 10. And less minigames. Quality over quantity. Then they'd be able to work on the fighting engine, the story and the fatalities.

I think I've heard this quite a few times on this forum. And my prediciton is that mIdway would be smart to take this route, and probably will.

I'm thinking 12 selectable, 3 or 4 hidden ala MK2, would be perfect. Engine=most important thing. Midway knows this.

I really hope that Midway sees this kind of logic. I'd be happy with 12 to 15 characters if they put a create a character mode in (that would be the ONLY add on mode I'd want to see) that allowed players to make as many characters as their hard drives could hold.

Take out all of the other extra modes like Test your whatever, chess, kart racing and konquest mode.

I would think that modes like Survival mode, a good practice mode, online mode, etc wouldn't be too difficult to implement, and by today's standards, those are practically bare bones features.

I say the fighting engine comes first. Once that' is figured out and balanced, perfected etc, then the MK team starts concerning themselves with whatever they want to add.

I'm obviously not telling them how to make a game, but if they're working on a new graphics engine on new next gen hardware with a clean slate, well, I just hope that they can fixate on what fans care about most, and let everything else come second.

Fighting system (balanced, solid, fun gameplay that can't be broken)
Fighting system (easy to use, tough to master and lots of fun for all)
Fighting system (it beared mentioning again)
Characters (quality over quantity)
Game Modes (related to fighting, no extra modes like MK bass fishing)
Story (a fully fleshed out story without holes, go back to an MK tournament)
Secrets (don't put them all in a room this time, and we don't need 600+)
Fatalities (gruesome and gory fine, but I don't need 10 minute cut scenes)
Extras (I'd be cool with koins returning for wagering purposes, and a kreate a kharacter mode, hence the need for koins, but that's it)
Sorry if this has been discussed, but I haven't been around since armageddon's been released.

1. I think it should really be a smaller cast, but more in depth fighting. Dead or alive never had THAT many characters, but I still think that's one of the best fighting engines ever made.

2. they definately need more than 1 grab per character. I would prefur 3.. forward R2, backward R2, and R2.

3. definately needs a more fluid fighting system. I'm fine with 2 styles each.. but some people prefur 3. It doesn't matter to me.

4. there needs to be 2-3 kostumes each.

5. I'm perfectly fine with no konquest. just focus on what's important

6. more thought out storyline

7. perhaps 1 minigame.. I just don't want them to go overboard.

8. KAK or no KAK.. I really don't care

9. 2 fatalities each, and a harakiri. Deception kicked ass. Maybe they could even add a brutality or.. something

10. plenty of cool specials

11. sonya

12. plenty of cool area change thingies, and hazards. Maybe even environmental fatalities
(for example: there's a certain button imput for each level, and say you're at the dead pool. you put in the combination for the dead pool and it shows you kicking someone to the ground, dragging them over to the acid pools and dunking their heads in until they stop moving. you pull them up and their head is a skull. you push the rest of their corpse in and do your victory thing) 13. reversals. I don't mean blocking and then punching, I mean character specific ones. 1 for high punch, 1 for high kick, 1 for low punch, 1 for low kick. scorpion can duck and do th scissor takedown when he's punched, and he can teleport or something and punch them when he's kicked. Sub zero could freeze body parts or somehing
