I really like these sentences that are references of characters endings in MK4. I always read in their voices.

the NRS team doesn't believe in redesigning bad characters unless they absolutely have to appear (which is the only reason Jarek got a moveset overhaul in MKA, or how Stryker got a new look in the same game)

if MK had a team behind them that was like League of Legends, we'd see alot of the least popular characters getting redesigns.

The new Kano could have been a bad ass Hsu Hao but the MK team wants to kill off and forget that some of those 3D era characters existed instead of fixing them or giving them a second chance.

Reiko, Smoke, Shinnok, Sindel, Noob Saibot, Nightwolf....


yeah, they are redesigning sucky characters left and right. And sometimes pdoing a pretty decent work at it (Smoke) might I add. Sometimes they hold non-characters dear to their heart (Reiko) and still do not do anything with them.

Honestly, Batgirl in Injustice plays how I always wanted Mavado to play. Using his grapple hooks for mobility rather than offense. Takeda's Shrai Ryu variation has the grasp and pull more similar to Scorpion and Batman.

Duelist Liu Kang could have been Ashrah/Sareena.

Sindel was not redesigned. She is also not a crappy character

I'll admit I hate Sindel, and I thought Smoke's redesign was horrible, his alt was so much better.

But you're right, a crappy character/design is only an opinion, which brings me to my point.

I may be the only one but I loved Mavado in MKA lol I spent the whole time just grappling around since he had 4 different mobility moves.

How? he plays nothing like him nor shares his gimmick. Mavado used bungee cords with hooks on the ends of them to propel himself at enemies. Takeda has weapons of a sci-fi character and his main weapon is straight out of AVP Requiem.

Mavado can be a better character I think. He can be jumping from walls by pulling himself forward and doing swipe attacks from the air to get in. He can have a dive kick. Oh also if they gave him blades on his feet instead of just spikes. I think his thing should be pulling himself to places instead of pulling enemies or haveing a ranged game.

Mavado had soooo much potential, just on looks alone. I don't think I'll ever get over his unceremonious death. He could have been really special.

I agree. I would have loved for Mavado to get more attention and expanded upon. But we all know that him being killed in the comic is pretty much it for Mavado.

Yeah I know no one dies in MK but when it comes to the ill received 3D characters. They are pretty much rounding them all up and doing away with them for good instead of busting their ass to reinvent them.

Man do I ever hope Vogel and the rest of the team can keep Drahmin from such a miserable fate.

It's sad that we'll likely never see him again.[/quote] I kinda agree, but i want to add that his look is nothing in comparison to his story, his story had alot of potential aswell, his character, his backstory (beating Kenshi, Kano, Kabal, and working with Quan Chi, possible future rivalry with the Lin Kuei...) they just never utilized him, but yeah he was a pretty darn handsome design in addition to that, also i'm sure i'm not the only one who was a fan of his style of fighting (his animations, his weapons, anger managment )

He's definitely the best of the 3D era characters.

Lets say that they did make this Kano Hsu Hao instead, do any of you really think that would have gone over well?

All I can picture is a bunch of shit storms and people complaining that they brought back Hsu Hao even if his gameplay is good.

Lol maybe ive just spent too much time here but I cant see him being that well received no matter how good his gameplay would be just because so many people hate the guy (I'm not a fan myself)

Mavado should play like Spiderman or an acrobatic super Scorpion.

Yeah, Mavado got a lot of hate for stealing Kabal`s Hook Swords, after killing him.
People also said he looked too much like Liu Kang.

I am remembering the days when leaks of Mavado and "Blind Kenshi" first surfaced before MKDA was released. Almost everyone here was hyping Mavado and looking forward to playing as him, while Kenshi was sort of neglected. Fast forward 13 years, and Kenshi today has basically become an icon of the 3D era, while Mavado is dead lol.

I can only speak for myself, but I didn't like Hsu Hao the moment I saw him MKDA, it had nothing to do with the MK teams opinion of him. I just didn't like anything about him, I liked his thunder clap move, and his Sun moon blades but that's it, his design was bleh to me and nothing about his story made me want to like him either, the same for Mavado (and a lot of the 3D characters)

I will admit my hatred for Mavado was multiplied by the fact that he had my boy Kabal's hookswords, that rustled my jimmies a little bit lol
