Well if you use logic Cassie beating Shinnok is nonsense. She couldn't even beat Tanya or Subzero one on one. What's to tell us if Jax was being killed Jacqui wouldn't be able to beat Shinnok? What makes Cassie so special? Why can she beat Shinnok and not Kung jin Takeda or Jacqui. It would have made more sense if they beat him as a team working together as one. The power levels in this story makes no sense Jacqui can kick Sub zero's butt the other kids get owned. i will say it again. there is no reason in letting her beat him up and be fazed on his knees. he wanted to school her just like the others and be c***y with her but she got back up and just beat him up thats how the things went. tont make up non existing context because it doesn't even sound logical. he didn't plan to stay on his knees for kung jin. he just was fazed and then kung jin spots him and attacks him. lucky for sub zero he came into his senses fast enough to react and continue to fight. this is what happened and what we see. please don't make up context that never was there in the first place. he wanted to train them yes. but training does not mean getting your ass kicked. by the way i am very confused with all this. in chapter 1 Johnny cage beats both scorpion and sub zero. in chapter 5 sonya beats the both of them. they are losers. and yes they were under control of Quan chi but it doesn't mean they fought worse suddenly or became weaker. it just means they used their skills for Quan chi. later on in scorpions chapter he becomes human again and he beats both sonya and johny cage along with Sub zero. what the f*** is up with that? so when you are an undead ninja you cant fight for s*** but when you return to be a human you become more powerful? Jax beat Kung lao, liu kang and then Quan chi is beyond. but can't beat shinnok. later on in raidens chapter they rape him and beat the living crap out of him. i don't know what to say to this messed up storyline.

To copy what i said on another forum:

MK9 was exactly the same. Kung Lao beat Goro, Noob, Kintaro, Shang, and Quan Chi. Stryker beat Kintaro and Ermac.

Thing is.. how powerful a character is doesn't determine whether or not they win in a fight. Anything can happen to change the outcome of a battle.

Is Kintaro or Stryker stronger? Kintaro, clearly.

But if Stryker shoots Kintaro right through the head in the right moment, he'll win. If Kintaro dodges that shot and rips his head off, he'll win.

Kotal Kahn vs Jacqui?

Kotal is stronger, but there are plenty of situations that could allow Jacqui to win. It's possible that she could just simply shotgun his head off at any time.

Comparing power levels is completely pointless

Because there are no such thing as power levels.

Just because Raiden is a god he still fights like a human.
The only power levels are

Liu Kang and villain of the week > slightly above the rest

But those guys are still capable of losing to anyone. Power levels would make MK extremely boring.

People are trying to determine power levels based on favoritism, like when people called bullshit on MK9 saying Ermac was "the most powerful" for whatever reason.

Yep MK9 proved that character reputations, previously established bad assery or anything of the sort means nothing, whoever's chapter it is atm wins, its at the point now where I wouldn't even be surprised if Kano managed to beat Goro in a story fight. (I know this wont happen its just an example lol)

Power level concepts are stupid and trying to apply them to any sort of scenario is ignorant. DBZ has ruined people with that nonsense.

If Boxer A beats Boxer B, but loses to Boxer C, that doesn't mean that C > A > B no matter what.

There is a difference between power levels and ABC logic. Power levels work for the most part, for example there is no way Batman should be able to fight with or even be able to take a hit from Superman without PIS (Plot Induced Stupidity) and that makes sense because Batman is a just a really skilled human, while Superman can lift hundreds of tons , one hit from him should turn Batman into a puddle lol

ABC logic is the whole "if A is stronger than B, and B beat C, then A > C" thing which only works in specific universes.

Power levels and who's stronger are just ways to simplify ability. It is by no means a law of who wins and how a fight will go. The most important thing is to make the fights entertaining, and uphill battles are usually much more engaging, especially final battles. If "realistically" Batman could never beat Superman, then "realistically" Superman could never beat Zod. Those unreasonable odds are what make an Emperor or Elder God a final boss over Sub-Zero or Scorpion.

P.S. About DBZ being the cause of "power levels." it really only gave out numbers until they reached Frieza (in his 2nd form). After that, they just said things like "he's stronger" and "what a tremendous amount of energy." Things comics and mantas have said forever.

I think the reason Superman beat Zod was because he had been on Earth for all those years soaking up yellow sun rays and getting used to it while Zod had only been there for a short time, and even experienced some of the problems Clark did as a child. Now if Zod and Suerpman had been there the same amount of time I think Zod would win since he has much more combat experience but I think Clark had a slight advantage with him being used to Earth and all that time soaking up those yellow sun rays (or at least that was my interpretation of the fight)

Yep they stopped power levels in Namek for the most part with Frieza saying his second form was over a million, the only other PL read after that was when Frieza got his goons to read Future Trunks's PL (which was suppressed) and came up as 5 lol the first and last official PL's in the series were both 5 :D

Its ok though , some people love to shit on DB whenever they get the chance, especially Marvel and DC fans lol
When people talk shit about power levels and say "this isn't DBZ" they're not trying to knock DBZ, they're just using it as a jokey example because of the phrase "power levels" and the fact that DBZ for the most part kept certain characters in certain leagues of strength, not that it was definitive who would win.
