Story details on meristation.
Ok I'm taking this with a sack of salt as the author didn't quote the origin of this, but here's meristation coverage on Mortal Kombat during the E3.
Meristation is a spanish website dedicated to videogames coverage:
http://www.meristation.com/pc/mortal-kombat-x/avance-juego/1982684/1985011
The part I want to focus is this:
"También sabemos que habrá un modo historia, en el que Scorpion y Sub-Zero tendrán un papel decisivo, debiendo formar equipo tras descubrir el primero que Sub-Zero no fue el responsable de la muerte de su clan, sino su maestro Quan Chi."
Which translates to:
"We also know that there will be a story mode where Scorpion and Sub-Zero will play an instrumental role, having to team up after the first one discovers that Sub-Zero wasn't responsible of the death of his clan, but his master Quan Chi instead."
As I said I'm taking this with a huge sack of salt as I can't find where he's getting this information from (and the video isn't available because of an error code...), but if this is true I would love to see their grudge finally ending as it was the logical path for Scorpion to finally stop being dumb and see things as what they're. This would also confirm Kuai Liang as Sub-Zero and as both are currently in netherealm it could lead to both meeting and later teaming up.

I think it also says this on IMDB. I would not be surprised at all if that's where they went with it. Could be an opening to the MK: Fire and Ice game they've been talking about forever. They allude to in in MK2, and then MK4, and then again in MK9. It's about time they pull the trigger on this.

Sounds like speculation.

I hope the whole Ice and Fire game never happens. I like the two of them teaming up, but I'd rather that happens in MKX and that it concludes in MKX as well, so we'll see Scorpion and Sub-Zero do something else in the next game.

I actually fucking called/hoped for this last night in the Sub-Zero circlejerk thread. :D
That in no way confirms Kuai Liang though.

Scorpion hates Sub-Zero and Sub-Zero hates Scorpion it does get old so a new story that changes that is ok by me.

The enemy of my enemy...
Even though I agree they are overused, I still love them enough to never got bored. I'd be pretty excited to have some key plot points revolve around them.

It could be possible, since Scorpion did find out that Quan Chi was the culprit at the end of MK4
So then will their prefight intros Change?:
Scorp: Hey Snowbro, how's it hang in?
Sub-zero: Just Chillin brah
