It seems like most of the stances are bend and somehow look weak. Also does it seems like the characters never stretch any of their body parts. I miss the "straight" strong "focused" stances they used in the older series. Have some of you noticed this aswell and what do you think of the new stances?

I am with you here. I thought Injustice was showing us that NRS listened to the ciritisism of the stances from MK 2011 and were ready to do away with the crab stances.

I was really hoping characters like Shinnok would have a more up and proper stance. something very much like Batmans but instead his is the most crab like in MKX and...it kind of doesn't make sense for someone of his stature.

Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Liu Kang I get even the brawlers like Johnny and Sonya make sense when their stances like that.

I'm just sort of disappointed they haven't come to being able to inject more personality into the combat stance animations.

mostly because rigid stretching is detrimental to the performance to muscles etc. Also because an idiotic stnace like MK3 Cyrax would leave you vulnerable even to a five year old.

However, most of the time certain poses are used to convey characterisation to a fighter. take for instance the Crane stance of Shang in MKDA: the pinnacle of uselessness on average, used as a very specific stance in actual real life. It does however convey the overall feel of the character.

Laugh or not, but Reptile's crab stance in MKDA is real, and not useless at all. Sure, it is weird, but that is how life works.

I think taking a certain stance works, especially for the characters that specialize in actual martial arts but I was hoping a few character would have some different or casual stances or walks like Injustice, like I pictured Shinnok walking rather normally like Zod in Injustice, or Mileena maybe walking a little bit like Catwoman lol

Some stances do seem a little off, yes.

I feel like they do those crab/crouch stances to compensate for the height of some of the male characters and keep them at eye level with the others, i.e. Shinnok, Raiden, Liu Kang. They're bigger and awkwardly scaled relative to others when they stand up straight.

Is it me or do Quan Chi and Shinnok have the exact same stance.

People didn't like the stances in mk9? I loved them! The ones in this game are ok, I love Erron's jittery fingers. The others could use some work, but they're not bad. What I really like is the little movements they do when they stand there long enough.

Overall, I like them better than MK9's. I couldn't stand Mileena's or Kitana's, but both have improved dramatically.

I like Erron's a lot. Those antsy fingers just waiting to go for the gun. Character right there.

I think it's really case by case IMO. In that some were better in MK9 and vice-versa.
