Sonya: No. He is mine
Who else liked this part of the story mode, when Quan Chi was trying to claim Johnny's soul, said "Johnny Cage is mine" and Sonya coming back with "No. He is mine"?
Holy hell, that scene was awesome. I just love when strong women in fiction rescue the men that they love, instead of a child. Who honestly wouldn't like a girlfriend like that?

Didn't she only kick him in the nuts once? It was an amazing scene.
Eh it was okay. Would have been better if there were more scenes that showed their relationship grow beyond the mild flirting and cute little one liners. Really I just hated that entire scene with how easily Quan Chi was dealt with there. I'm just going to say it, the REAL Quan Chi would have had about 10 back up plans for if someone confronted him in his pyramid or quarters...wherever the hell he presides in the Netherrealm in the ass backwards continuity.

Went back and watched, you are indeed correct. I was incorrectly remembering shots to the head. I have a lot of problems with the entire "siege on the Netherrealm" section of story mode, shouldn't let that cloud the facts, haha.

I know I'm biased, but in a flawed story mode Sonya's chapter and participation in other chapters was really well done and one of the more enjoyable appearances. They set her up well in Cage's first chapter with the helicopter crash set piece and then her inability to conquer her guilt and sadness when facing revenant Jax.
This motivates her confrontation of Quan-chi in the Netherrealm, where she is victorious and rescues Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Jax. All the while revealing how much she cares about Cage saving him.as well.
And Just when you think that's it's for her chapter, they give her a nice finale that is more fan service with her Kano confrontation which really I thought was very considerate of them.
Finally during Scorpions idiotic special forces infiltration she's the only one with sense to tell him that they need Quan-Chi to resurrect liu Kang, Kitana and Kung Lao, she's still thinking about saving them even though she'd much rather kill Quan-chi herself.
So overall, in am over the top story mode, I think they did Sonya justice.

I'll give you that. They managed to make her semi more likable than she is in the comics. And some how more likable than Kitana...really not liking this hypothetical arrogant "I have no time for anyone" persona they fitted her with in this game.

Well, we women would most likely aim towards the most vulnerable spot if we're that pissed at you guys.
Since it was right there in the open, them balls got kicked. Which is weird for Sonya since it's Sonya but hey, I'd kick him there too if that was me.

Sonya was protecting Johnny Cage, master of the nut punch. It was only natural.
Loved that line as well. It's always refreshing to see cliches shattered. The chick saving the guy, using her fists, no less(!) is a very welcomed switch-up. As far as I'm concerned, her character is still breaking new grounds even to this day, decades after being the first female fighter.
Pretty much this. This is the Blade I've always known existed, and have been waiting to see portrayed. MK9's Sonya was good, but MKX took her character to another level.

I actually love it. It's a fresh change for Kitana.
