I like it... seeing some moves would be nice a add on for MK9 Incarnations.

But did they really have to change the're moveset completely?

Like Sub-Zero stance or the fact the're is no kari blade in his higher punch?
I can understand that Ed likes to change things up. But was this a necessary change?

I thought MK9 establish Sub-Zero and Scorpions movesets just fine... That was the one thing i hated about MKDA through MKArmageddon. Trading moveset with other characters.

Thoughts?

Loved the new moves. Sub-Zero better keep his ice counter this time.

i like how Sub throws his clone at scorpion!

nice touch on an existing move!
Throwing the Ice Clone was epic... but i think they should have keep the Kai Blade in favor of the Ice Daggers... Those Ice Daggers should have been giving to Frost.

I think they did a great job updating their MK9 movesets. Each character should have a distinct fighting style with a few special moves that compliment it, and as we progress to future games they should retain it with a few tweaks. Kinda like what Tekken does. If you main a specific character in Tekken 4 for example, you should be able to pick them up right away in Tekken 5 but they always have new stuff so that they don't get boring.

I hope they speed up Sub a bit. He felt a bit to clunky for a ninja in the previous game.

Sub zero throwing his ice clone was hilarious. I can't stop laughing everytime I see it. It's like "you want some of me? Here you go, b*tch!"

Sub's mask freezing over during the fight was interesting.

Also, Scorpion has swords on his back, when he had them on his hip in the reveal trailer? Different style?

I would still expect to see his kai blade. I wouldnt worry if i were you..

Did you see the inclusion of different fighting styles in the new trailer? Look as scorpion in one fight scene fights with out swords on his back then later has two katanas on his back like mk9. This is what boon was talking about with different variations of fighting styles you can choose for one character.

I can almost guarantee subzero has one variation with daggers one with an ice kai blade. Wouldn't fret just yet.

Actually, it's "kōri", the native Japanese word for "ice". Honestly, I'm glad Sub-Zero uses ice daggers. He shouldn't just form swords with his powers. It would be nice to see him forming all sorts of weapons as it would make his gameplay style much more interesting. I do hope Sub-Zero moves a bit faster and has enough tools to make him formidable without being particularly broken. It would be nice if he retained his good mix-up game from MK 2011, and I hope to see his Force Claws (b + bp), especially if there was a meter burn option for armor and extra damage like the stuff from Injustice. I'm curious as to what other special moves he'll have.

For Scorpion, I'm not sure what to think of him throwing fireballs. I guess that's supposed to be more of the zoning-style Scorpion. Imo, he just needs a couple of new moves with his spear such as swinging it around like the Chinese rope dart. Hell, even throw in an ant-air spear move like Batman's anti-air grapple hook from Injustice.

I'm sure there will be a Variation of both Scorp and Subby that's similar to MK9, but I am psyched for the different build choices. Zoner Scorpion? Rushdown Sub-Zero? Aw yeah. Online is gonna be fun.
So i caught the live stream and saw the Kori Blade in it. Theres another move involving a ice hammer

Yup, his Cryomancer version seems to give him frozen arms as a visual distinction and access to a whole arsenal of kori attacks including a redesigned sword, hammer and knives. I like it.

My only gripe is that I didn't see him using the Ice Clone so I'm afraid it could be exclusive to one of the other modes. He seems to keep the Iceball and the Slide as generic specials.

Scorpion seems to keep his classic spear and the teleport as generic moves. Then he gets to choose between sword combos (the mirror option to Subby's kori arsenal), fireball+flame aura+probably his classic ground fire or a combination of summons including grabbing legs, attack from above or attack from behind.

This way to distribute moves is interesting as you have to renounce to some moves, though I would've liked to see the Ice Clone as a generic move usable on every playstyle. They're probably keeping it on a zone control oriented style.
