who do u like better ninja smoke of cyborg smoke
I personally prefer Human Smoke (calling him "Ninja" Smoke is a misnomer because technically Cyber Smoke is a ninja as well (unless we get really specific, in which case Lin Kuei aren't really ninjas anyway). Nonetheless I don't want to see Human Smoke in another Mortal Kombat game because I think it cheapens the plot line to make him human for the sole purpose of fan service. It wouldn't make any sense to make him human, he is more cyborg than ever now, it would be impossible to bring him back. Human Smoke is gone for good (just read his MK:T ending and biography):
I would be very disappointed if Human Smoke was brought back, it would show a lack of effort on the part of the writers.
Ending
Before his transformation into a cybernetic ninja, Smoke was one of the Lin Kuei's finest ninjas. It was during this time that he came to know his greatest ally - Sub-Zero. When the Lin Kuei decided to automate their warriors, the two attempted to escape. While Sub-Zero successfully eluded capture, Smoke did not.
He would become a robotic nightmare, his soul trapped inside a living machine. In his human form Smoke was a fierce warrior. In his mechanical body he is even more lethal. But his true form is that of a human, one he'll know again only in dreams.

In his human form, Smoke was a lethal assassin working for the Lin Kuei. But when they decided to automate their ninjas, Smoke is caught in the middle. He became a cyborg assassin, whose human form would exist as a memory forever more.

Well, there is a dileam. After youve turned somone into a robot, its hard to turn into a human. Rembmer, Smoke must be stock in his body forever.
But By and large, I do prefer his "human" or ninja look more...if only there was a way

I am not that fussed really, i like them both. In MK7 if its going to be MKT2 they could make him have a alternate human form, like Jax in MKT. He had metal arms then non-metal.
essentially there was no elemental Smoke in MKD. he was justa cyborg as his other costume, onmly that he was drawn as a swarm of nanoids (remember the NS bios about reactivated nanotechnology).
Hmm, a Smoke cloud taking on a human appearance but with totally metallic surface. i have to draw that.

How would the plot allow him to become human?
Have Sub-Zero capture Smoke from the clutches of Noob and have the special forces do what they did in Mk gold?
That would just plain suck in my opinion and would be fundamentally flawed, since he is mostly nanotechnology now and not just a cyborg man who can have the robotic parts removed.
Maybe, Sub-Zero should just kill Smoke instead?

I like the cyborg smoke much better than human smoke. My favorite smoke form was from the third game. Smoke has much more potential for bizarre fighting moves such as the teleport punch and the fork-like robospear coming from his chest. I also like the struggle of his humanity trying to conflict with him, his old ally Sub-Zero knows his best friend is in there somewhere but SZ also knows how uncontrolling and destructive he can be.

Remember Cyrax.
They can do that with Smoke.
Lin Kuei are Mk Ninjas.
Reptile, Noob Saibot, Ermac, and Rain are Mk Ninjas too.
There is a big difference between a ninja and a Mk Ninja.
Kenshi is a MK Ronin.

I am torn between the two really, since Cyborg Smoke looked the absolute King in MKD, like, his first costume was a thing of beauty and it made the MKDA cyber-ninjas look like chopped liver. That said, his human form in MK2 when you find him in the Living Forest is also completely excellent, so I am not sure who I would choose of the two.
As for plotwise, I don't think Human Smoke could ever come back. Although I get the feeling that Ashrah's ending was canon, that she killed Noob Saibot and was freed from the Netherealm, and that Smoke is going to get her sword so that he can redeem his soul with it. That would certainly be an interesting plot point, but even though I suggested it I disapprove, since they only just said that Noob was Sub-Zero's older brother; it would be a shame to kill him off and waste the many angles that creates.

I probably preferred Human Smoke, but the cyborg ended up with a more compelling story. Well, did, until it kinda got lost.
With Sub-Zero reforming the Lin Kuei, it'd be great to see him fight his brother (Noob Saibot) for control of Smoke, and ultimately see Sub-Zero free Smoke's mind and soul, even if he can't return his body.
Smoke and Sub-Zero would be a great team.
So, yeah... I prefer cyborg Smoke, if for no other reason, for continuity's sake, even though continuity has never been much of a priority in MK.

Based on the Deception costumes, I would lean toward Smoke being nothing but circuitry, smoke, and maybe a brain.

Human Smoke. aka Ninja Smoke is and always will be the better.
Although he was just a grey version of Scorpion, he held a mysterious appeal in his human form throughout the MK series that just sort of died with Mechanical Smoke. And yes, I think it is right that you call him Ninja, for in his Human form he was a mysterious character that was almost impossible to catch, the very essence of a ninja that all of us find appealling. Mechanical Smoke, however, completely destroyed that Ninja image of smoke by turning to a futuristic robot. So no, Mechanical Smoke is NOT a NINJA, and takes away the ninja appeal that smoke always had. It was through this mysterious Ninja like appearance that Smoke gained any popularity; sure you had the "ninjas," or colorful characters in masks, but deep down inside we all knew that those weren't the ninjas that we had come to known, that mysterious ninja warrior that we had come to known was the ninja found in Human Smoke.

Hmm....I'm not sure which to choose. They could do a lot of cool stuff with both forms, but if Smoke can't be turned back to a human, then I guess for the sake of the story, we'd have to do cyborg or this "elemental" smoke. But good lord elemental smoke looked awesome!
