I don't think the "leaked" bios are legit, the comics have hinted at Jax being a general now.

If what you say is true, then you have a good point.

Where was this in the comics? The only time I even saw Jax mentioned was when Cassie and Jacqui were sparring. Granted, I've only been reading the digitals and haven't seen the print issue that goes a couple chapters ahead, so I might have missed something there. But so far, Sonya seems to be in charge both in the comic and in the story mode snippets. Plus, Jax has a "Farmer Jax" skin as a mobile unlock, and that doesn't exactly scream "King of the Special Forces" to me.

Jax outranked Sonja while he was alive. Maybe after decades that isn't the case anymore.

Well Sonya was promoted to Major, Jax was dead at that time, and that was the Rank where Jax was, she probably outranked him.

No idea, probably she is the head of Special Forces now.

Well he's a revenant for a portion of the story...But also, a while back, Shawn Kittelsen had said this about Jax in upcoming comics:

"We're definitely talking about Jax, but his rank might be in question."

Being dead tends to lead to demotion.

Sonya goes from Lieutenant to Major to Colonel in the span of MKX; she's working harder than Jax, who's too lazy to get un-undead and file some damn paperwork, for Christ's sake.

Plus, as it's been stated, Jax more than likely retires after he's saved from that Albino witch Quan Chi, and Blade-Cage have to drag him out of the farm even though the turnips were just about to come in.

Jax could be a General, but maybe he's not in the special forces branch anymore and is just a General in the Army.

Picking a faction is the first thing you do. Having Jax all up in your face if you haven't been following the development of the game would be a HUGE spoiler. Sonya was alive at the end of the last game, she spoils nothing.

I have a feeling we can change the picture of the factions once the game comes out.
