Well Friendship always made me laugh so i will like to see it again. I hated Animality, the only one I liked was liu Kang Brutality was sick so i say bring it back. Babyality I did not like just made me laugh a little bit.

I understand what you are trying to say man, but I seriously would hope Mk would take a more serious direction and cut the jokes out. That is so 1993 1995 material. It just doesnt fit in with todays society I guess.

But good thread, and I hope to hear the discussion.

Well teh next MK is going to be "darker" so I can only see the brutality coming back. If it does it would have to be very gory in detail for it to work now.

I can't see Friendships, Babalities or Animalities coming back, though they were funny.

yes, this has been said before... i hear one more person hoping these things come back... i'll kill you. okay? if they haven't returned since Trilogy, what makes it to where they will come back all of a sudden? and don't bring a stupid comment like: oh but they brought back classic arenas and characters, why can't they bring back this?

four words

soccer moms are bitchy!

blame them beucase they thought the first mk was too gory and so scary. blame them for the recent friendships. blame them now!

I don't want to see them back on a "darker" MK game.

Yeah they should bring that stuff back, but chances are they wont.
There are always chances that they would work on that again for MK8 right?
Again, not likely.

Brutality's were horrible. MK8 should have ultra combos like Killer Instinct had.

Ultra Combo>Brutalities

Including more savage animalities should be interesting.

That's all!

I liked Brutalities alot but they should do it more like killer instinct, it was more intense, and it would be done in detail, like scorpion would like kick the shit out of his opponent and then knock them flying and pull them back with the spear and so on. Sub zero would kick the shit out of the opponent similarly but but the character was sent soaring in the air, he would freeze them and they would smash when they hit the ground. As for anything else, some of the animalities were good but not many of them, theyd have to fix em up. I liked the whasp and shark and dragon and all. But the penguin and rabbit and stuff sucked.

I didn't think they were funny at all, maybe except Shao Kahn Animality.

The reason the MK franchise is going to the darker side of things instead of the lighter more friendly ways, is due to the lack of sales that they have been experiencing over the years. When the first Mortal Kombat came out it was a hit due to the graphic fighting and fatalities. People were drawn to it's sadistic and dark style. Once they started brining in friendships, babalities, and animalities, MK started to lose it's fan base. Now that with the Next-Gen, Ed Boon and the MK staff want to go back to it's original roots, but with a new system. Get rid of the characters that didn't fit in the world of Mortal Kombat, but keeping a few of them and creating darker more sinister characters. Bringing a darker feel like Unreal tournament with a better 3d engine. But if you realize most of the people on this post that want the lighter side are in there preteens and up to 16 years old. Sorry to say that hardcore MK fans want the darker side, and Ed Boon and company listened. Our society has an attraction to the darker, sinister side of things and that's what will sell this game. You want a lighter side, Disney makes a fighting game with their own characters, can always go back to Nintendo.

brutalities? yeah right, all it was just u doing a super long combo. that's not brutal its pointless. if anything to be brutal they go mad with blood not just let the entire body explode by a super long and fast combo.

Well what was better the stage Factalities or the death trapes. Even through they are almost the same the stage factalities were a fishiner. A lot of my friends said that they shouldnt have death trapes they should be stage factalities like in the old games. Or at least say Factality when someone dies from a death trap

That's what made them so Brutal. The long-ass combo made it look violent, then the explosion made it look more violent. If it's brought to 3-D, then it'll look better. More dark and violent.

More fatalities= More of a wait and more combos to remember.

And the brutalities at heart were just Combos with explosions.

Well I want to see something other then plain Factalities. Furthermore as far as factalities go I say they should turn it back to the regular Factalities instead of Kreate a factality, it was cool but basically everyone had the same possiable out come

aaabsolutely not. the only way that I could see it working on next gen systems is if they developed them into downloadable minigames or something....

And even then, I'm not a fan of the mini games the've been coming out with...

Here's an Idea from "ThePredators Past" lol:

How about these ideas?:

1. A code that takes the characters you fight with, into an entirely "animality" based fight. Like Primal Instict or think of the way Jet Li fought in "Unleashed".
The primal part of how he fought in that movie was crazy. Imagine if our fighters fought like that, representing the animal within instead of just turning into an animal.
Or, it would also be fantastic as well if they turned into animals and still maintained "a" fighting style of some sort. Kinda like showing us where matial arts comes from, but on a primal level.

This I think would enhance the fighting experience, yet keep the game the same enough to except and enjoy the change.
Note: Alot of martial arts styles are named after animals already.

2. Maybe something that allows us to fight in the darkened fatality mode. Kinda like the arena in MKD that turns from a tropical island into a deadly, living scene. In this darkened state alone it allows for the round fatalities. Not just knock 'em into the thing in the background and they die at anytime.

It should give a sense of ergency and also rely on how good the player is with manipulating his opponent. It could also be an opportunity type thing where if, while in this mode, and fighting around a particular area, you do a strong punch or kick or combo ender, then you get to see a round fatality. Only then.

I feel it's far too easy right now to knock my opponent into a trap and win. That's not fun to me because I wanna fight the entire clock out or be surprised by a round fatality. Think of the Arena where if you're on the edge you can fall off. But it should be so rare within this mode.
Can you just see people getting more "aggresive"(more of a pupose is added to the Aggressor feature in MK3/T) when the screen gets darker and "It's Time!" to go berzerk and try and finish off your opponent? This should have like a time limit and be triggered by the more aggressive player. Maybe 10-20 sec. The benefit in this feature could be a slight increase in damage delt, maybe an added visual effect to the aggressor as well.

The Adrenaline Rush would be crazy right?

(One More)
3. How about even more interaction with the Arena.?

Take the shaolin monk arena, with the monks as the crowd.Y'know?
How about allow us to throw or knock an opponent into the crowd and fight amogst the on viewers? Maybe have the crowd scream and move out of the way.
Think like in a football game when the player flies into the crowd. Or WWF when the fight goes into the crowd. The fight doesn't stop does it? Noooo, it keeps going and people, innocent people, are bound to get hurt in the process. *evil chuckle*

They might even get involved in the fight slightly, and turn the tide for the otherwise loosing party. Or not. I think this could be interesting because they are Shaolin Monks, they fight too.

Just think, some random monk jumps up out of his seat after accidentally being hit using the crane style or something, and now you not only have to beat your opponent, but you have to fend off in-raged by standers as well.

It would start to look like an old martial arts film or something. COOL!!!
Imagine my #2 involvled with all this. Wow.
