i do its pretty cool
I won't say this again. Stop making so many threads. Don't post any more threads today. When you do post threads, make sure they actually have some thought behind them. Chan_Ming |

No. They need to ditch the mini games and put the majority of time and effort into the fighting engine. MK is a fighting game and doesn't need the mini games, as fun as they are.

I think they should focus on the fighting, and when they're done, they can squeeze in Chess and Puzzle Combat.

I'd like to see Chess Kombat back, but as Tgrant says, they need to really work on making the main fighting game up to scratch.
It's a really sad thing when Chess Kombat ended up my favourite mode on MK: Disappointment.

If they really want to franchise the hell out of Mortal Kombat (and I think they could honestly) then they should do this:
Game 1) Adventure game: Story driven, action packed platformer types in the vain of MK: Mythologies, MK: Special Forces and MK: Shaolin Monks.
Game 2) Fighting game: My personal favorite. This should about fighting. A good solid engine where the only peripheral ornaments for the game serve only to enhance the fighting itelf. Online fighting, Tag Mode, Survival Mode, Time Attack, Create a Character (it's not a minigame if you're building fighters to fight to your liking, but this is debatable if we're talking in the purest sense of the word "fighting game.")
Game 3) Party game: I think MK could do a party game like Mario Party. They could put in Test your Might, Test your Sight, Puzzle Fighter, Chess Fighter and a whole slew of other minigames with big headed MK characters.
That's my opinion at least. Stop trying to cram everything into one game. MK:D had konquest mode: the adventure game, Puzzle/Chess: The party game, and then they went and tried to put a fighting game in as the main attraction amidst all of this clutter. Not to mention online fighting, the krypt, etc. Split them into three categories and let a part of the MK team take a crack at each. That way, fans of a certain part of the MK experience won't be disappointed, but MK fans who actually want a good fighting system with good characters, good moves (regular and special) with good properties, good specials, etc can actually become, well, a little more satisified at least...hopefully.

I like puzzle very much. It should come back.
I don't like chess all that much. It's pretty pointless imo.

Well, i 100% agree that the most efort must be focused on the fighting engine, but i enjoyed the sidegames.
i play the chess kombat alone and on max, because mi cousins and my brothers are decent fighters, but they suck at chess ( ^_^u), i had great close matches with the cpu in chess kombat, even a leader vs leader, i really like chess kombat
I play puzzle with mi brothers and cousins, and its insanely fun!, because we dont know what the f*** we are doing, and suddenly a 70-block combo can appear on my board O_O.
I love the side games, and i think they sould stay, but fix the fighting engine aove all else
