I think it would be cool if quan chi took scorpions son and raised him to try to kill scorpion.

not what i was thinking but yeah that would be cool, well idk i just want it to be where he continues scorpions legacy and have something completely different to do throughout his hole story, though that couldnt work out because why would his son want to be tought by quan chi when he knows quan chi was the one who slaughtered their family

I'd rather have Scorpion's family and clan still be dead. Having them resurrected is a cop-out and only weakens his story even more.

We'll be seeing Scorpion in the future games, so I feel he should kill Quan Chi and have his story be taken in a different (and better) direction, one that takes him out of revenge and makes him into an interesting character like he was before MK4.

I don't like to see good characters go, either, but if he does, then he should have a son, like you said, or a little brother or something. If that happened, it would be ironic with what happened to the Sub-Zero bros.!

You know, if SUB-ZERO trained his son (Scorpion's son, not Sub-Zero's) to become the third Sub-Zero, and Scorpoin ever found out, he would be one ticked off dude!

Personally, I despise the idea of Scorpion's son taking his place. It's just too cute for Mortal Kombat, in my opinion.

If they really want Scorpion back, they need to work out why he should return. Have him brutally murder Quan Chi to the point where his soul is so tainted he can never enter the Heavens, and he becomes a permanent curse upon the realms. Or give him a storyline purpose. Don't just keep him around for the sake of it, or because he is trying to impress daddy.

Scorpion should never leave the series. Scorpion is one of those characters that defines the series. I wouldn't mind Scorpion's son taking his place as the new Scorpion (like what they did with Sub-Zero's younger brother replacing the original Sub-Zero) just as long as their is a Scorpion character in MK.

There is no doubt that newcomers to the MK games, are usually attracted by Scorpion, and they start playingh with him (or Sub Zero), and they assume that Scorpion is the main guy of the games, and there is no possible way of ever existing an MK warrior stronger than him.

But yeah, i hope that Scorpion's storylie suffers a GREAT revolution, to give the character some purposes, and objectives that are in contact (although in pararel) with the events of the Mortal Kombat tournaments.

So far Scorpions story is like " enraged, Scorpion hunts quan chi, he gets fucked and defeated. Again, Scorpion starts hunting Quan Chi down, but is ultimately defeated... " and so on.. Well this is affecting Scorpion's image, and personality. He is becoming a sucker that gets cheated, and tricked every time he is almost achieving his goal: "KILL THAT BALD QUAN CHI BASTARD!!!"

So, some time ago, i've posted this "scorpion's son becoming the next scorpion" idea in a "mk8 storylines" thread.
I thought it was good a good idea, but ultimately, i found it better, if Sub Zero trains Scorpions son.
The true Scorpion should stay, but change his atitudes and ways of thinking. For his own sake.

Having a charcter stuck to a series of games just for eye candy, is a great flaw, and affects the games storyline deeply.

So unwise.

If Scorpion = MK and Scorpion is a shallow, gimmicky character, then MK is shallow and full of gimmicks. That actually kind of makes sense. When MK, as a fighting game, should at least have a decently solid fighting system, it instead is very lackluster and broken.

The problem with people like you is that you're ignorant of the various problems Scorpion has. It's mainly due to the fact that Scorpion is a fan favorite and he happens to be a character that only has his gimmicks going for him. He fails in other things, mainly story and character.

It's funny that you say Scorpion is just a "gimmicky" character when your avatar is Sub-Zero who is also quite gimmicky.

But you have to admit that Sub Zero is a much more developed character than Scorpion is.
In terms of storyline, it is very good. He starts as a loyal member of the Lin Kuei (MK2), he betrays his clan (MK3), he assumes the leadership of the clan, and ultimately reforms the clan.
In terms of costumes, he is very varied, as he unmaskes, and evolues his costume as the games evolue (MK deception's primary suit is beautifull).
In terms of personality, Sub Zero is a cold, wise, good old man, that only serves justice, and fights evil. He is inteligent,and does not act influences by rage or vengeance, like Scorpion does.

I wouldn't say Sub-Zero is that gimmicky, but I can kind of understand some people thinking he's a bit overrated. Either way, Sub-Zero has far more going for him than Scorpion. All Scorpion has are his gimmicks and his revenge story. Once you take those away, he's nothing. Once he gets his revenge on Quan Chi, then what? Unlike Sub-Zero, Scorpion hasn't grown as a character and he still acts like a child.

hmmm I love firesnakes idea.

1. Keep Scorp.
2. Scorp kills Quan
3. However, Quan raised Scorps son
4. Scorps son seeks revenge on Scorp.
5. scorps son would look and play like a mix of Quan and Scorp. (raises fire, weapon steal, double swords. disappears to the side of the screen like scorp, but instead comes down on your head like Quan. for his throw, make him grad the guy like Raiden while he says (get out of here), but then kicks him away

It would be a weird twist that the hunter becomes the hunted. But also by someone who he doesnt want to kill.

I think Scorpion's son should be a new character in the game, but in no way similar to Scorpion himself...he should be a ninja, but witha totally different costume...
Regarding Scorpion, i think he and Noob both kill Quan Chi, then Noob and Scorpion resume their own conflict, since Noob killed scorpion, and then asked to kill scorpion's family and clan, and scorpion then killed Noob...they should continue their fight, and Noob should kill scorpion's son again, so scorpion can have a reason for killing him again...
they should both go to hell and fight there!!!!

Like I said in the other thread, revenge is NOT what the motive should be for their rivalry. Doing so ruins both their stories.
