In the IGN video that showed Kenshi at the 2:22 mark was a grey ninja with a sword on his back.. I'm assuming this is an Feudal Japanese Alt for Scorpion. If so what do you think of it? It looks interesting but how many costumes will Scorpion have?

-Pre-Order RED
-Pre-Order Statue Alt
-Feudal Japan

Do you think a lot of characters will be getting this kind of love, or is Scorpion getting this special treatment again because he's, well... Scorpion?

I used to think it was Scorpion until I realized it has one sword on his back.


Takeda is a ninja and is said to be a master swordsman.

Idk if its Scorpion or not but I do like that costume, ill certainly play as whoever it is if its available on the console version.

I suppose that would make sense of it to be Takeda as well. There are also stripes of yellow on the sides... maybe as a nod to his master, Scorpion and being trained by the Shira Riyu

Since Kenshi reveal (through the same app), given how that guy has a single sword on his back, I'm gonna say it's feudal japan skin for Kenshi instead of Scorpion (who uses 2 swords on his variation). Takeda has a whip on his back on his "less technologic" alt so you'd think he would get that too on another "old fashioned" alt too.

Any1 have a link to the cold war scorpion skin that comes with the 100$ gamestop CE? I can't find it and I just upgraded to the statue version & it looks like the cold war skin is no longer included. Just the gold one. Wanna know if I made a huge mistake.

I don't get it, Skins are super easy to make. they don't take a lot of time and they don't need a lot of people to do them.

They just need design and someone to do them. Look at the skins from the PC Mods, they are not a masterpiece but some as very and I mean VERY impressive.

So I wonder why don't NRS keep doing skins over time and give to people, I would love to buy more skins for characters.

Off topic I know but I'm just wondering.

Pretty sure the grey ninja is a kenshi or takeda skin. If you look at the kenshi mobile the sword is the same type. A two handed kitana instead of scorps 2 one handed knight swords. Either that or it's a generic Shiraz Ryu ninja.

Takeda has a variation With a single sword. (See the mkx story trailer). That gray ninja is almost certainly takeda In one of his variations.

That's exclusively Texture work though. I've never seen anyone import 3D models into the game for their skins. I don't even think I've seen anyone transfer parts of character models over to other characters (although a character creation that allows use of assets from every character would be the sickest mod ever!).

People expect some new 3D modeling with real skins, which adds to the work load on both the art side and the programming side.

Well Like anything done in games, its never perfect the first time... I don't think it should have been thrown out completely after one failed attempt.

That was one of the only good things about Armageddon lol. The sheer amount of content was still impressive though. It's good that most of the mini games are based on the fighting engine now, it just makes for a better fighting game. The 3d era games had like a 100 different systems in one and I think trying to outdo the previous game eventually caught up to them in quality. If they can handle it I'd welcome the character creator.

Kreate-a-kharacter was cool when Mortal Kombat was bad as a competitive game. There's a different expectation of quality from these games, and the time it would take to implement at 1080p HD would take resources from considerably more important features.
