Only a few classics should be back, and everyone else who returns should be from MKDA-MKA. I'm sick of all the classic guys being reused over and over again.

I agree. The only people who should return are Sub, Scorp, Reptile, and one cyber ninja. Hopefully Liu Kang and Kitana's kid will be the hero of the next MK game. If they make new character they better not have anyone who looks like Kobra.

Sub-Zero and Scorpion are the signature characters of this entire franchise. It is inevitable that they will both return in some shape or form in the next game. In Mortal Kombat 8 I would keep Liu Kang in the story because he was never trully defeated, so technically he is still the Mortal Kombat champion.

There are generations of Sub-Zeros though and Scorpion is eternal, but if Armageddon was supposed to be the end and Ed wants to start with new characters he should. I was so happy when Frost appeared, cause I thought wow the torch can be passed and we can stop seeing Sub-Zero!

i don't want many old characters on MK8, maybe 5 tops; i wish Subby and Scorp weren't in that five, but they already confirmed it, so whatever;anyway, i want a new, fresh game, that feels like a actual new game, not a expansion pack.

-liu kang may return human in mk8
without Scorpion & Sub-Zero, mk is over,all they need to change the title...

WOW I knew that even before MK:A came out.

No matter what happens, these 2 will ALWAYS be in MK.

Okay, this logic I definately don't get. How does keeping characters from the last game make it an "expansion pack?" Almost every other fighter game series out there still has their original cast in tact, and they're still kicking ass like they always did. Why would this be any different?
