I prefer they keep their distance. I've had my fill of Scorpion/Sub-Zero interaction.

But I suppose they can have a common foe in Noob Saibot. Noob wants to kill Sub-Zero, and perhaps when Scorpion discovers who Noob really is, he'll realize that his revenge had created a great evil that must be destroyed.

They don't need to be rivals anymore. The Scorpion/Sub-Zero rivalry ended. Twice. It doesn't need to start again.

When two characters are connected for a long period of time and then split, it always feels unnatural to me if they never cross paths again. So yeah, I'd like to see Scorp and Subbie teaming up one day. Just once, though. I wouldn't make a regular thing out of it at all.

They could probably have a short team up for example as stated against a common enemy like Noob Saibot or Quan Chi.

Shang Tsung,Quan Chi,and Raiden teamed up to beat Onaga. Anything could happen the way Midway is going about now.

In MKSZM Quan Chi hired Sub-Zero which was allegedly before the events of MK1. Which means Quan may have heard of Scorpion through the reticent Lin Kuei. In one of Scorpion's endings him and Quan ended up in the Netherrealm. Now was this their first confrontation or was something not documented behind the scene? Scorpion then went after Quan which meant resurrecting him was not wise. The arch-sorcerer used Sub-Zero and Scorpion as pawns periodically. Quan then got desperate and reminded Scorpion of his past, which is why Scorpion spared him. With Noob now in the picture, was the plan to get Kuai Liang and Scorpion to kill one another and end the name of 'Sub-Zero' forever? It is hard to know who was to blame for the Shirai ryu and families deaths, when you look at the verity. Quan Chi, Sub-Zero or both? Although this all sounds basic, I am unclear about the actuality of these occurrences, because of MKA and MK 1,2 and 3 being MK9. Sure makes this intricate.

Wow. I was about to welcome OP to the forum and saw the date lol.

As for the topic, I do think that it'd be cool if they actually came in to a game with eyes open to a common foe and an actual alliance.

I think that these characters need to move forward in their stories, especially after the story reset and this would be a nice place to start.

Umm...MK8? No one wants to remember that game as it's MKvsDC, according to a lot of people.
