This will just be a few characters, but its partially ideas i have and things heard around the net of things people want.

As we know almost everyone dies and is under the control of quan chi. Also the lin kuei and sworn loyalty to shao kahn. Now that he's dead this starts with the new grandmaster sektor swearing an oath to quan chi and asking in return the souls of sub zero and smoke.

He would of course make them into cyborgs like he wanted (sz again). He would only be able to finish smoke and halfway with sub zero (reason its halfway because he wanted to make changes so he couldnt break free again.
Also because none other than scorpian came to the aid of sz. You may ask why. Well scorpian knows all sz wanted was revenge for his brother like scor wanted for his family. Since scorpian was unable to free his family because of his anger he felt it would be right to save the life of the young sub zero as personal penance and hoping that this act may impress raiden enough to get his family back.

This would lead to sektor sending smoke and cyrax after them. SInce sz is only partially cybernetic. his look would be like his mk3 costume but armoured sort of like scorpian's alt in this game. his scar would be a line of metal from implants and his eye is gone left with a globe ice. He's arms are now just skeleton covered in ice since they were in the process of removing flesh to add newer implants. So we get the classic ice arms and scar ,but keeping to his new cyborg self.

For their story since sz was under chi's control he knows the truth of scorpian's family and tells him all about. This point cyrax and smoke attack. instantly scorpian hits hellfire on smoke. This sets off a traumatic memory of smoke burning to death as a child which releases his full powers and destroying his cyborg body leaving his demonic form. He then would short out cyrax's implants causing him to run back to the lin kuei under a sub program because of damage.

Now that smoke is free he and sub zero decide to follow cyrax back to sektor to stop him ( smoke wouldnt know where to go since the implants are gone) Scorpian feeling anger towards chi still and rev'd up with the battle heads to the neather realm to take on chi personally. Smoke's look would be a combo o his mk3 and MKA costumes because he would take parts of the cyborg as clothing since he now a gaseous state.

While that happens noob saibot now in the chamber of the elder gods is given the task to hunt down shinnok...the neatherrealm invasion has just began . He agrees, but only because he knows of the amulet now since working with chi and wants it for himself. While in the heavens he knows of scorpians quest and decides to accompany him on his quest under the ruse of gaining revenge for his death as well

also point out for sz i thought instead of the teleport and the dive kick he gets an anti air attack like ice man had in the capcom games with with giant ice ball in the air...but with spikes for him.
