The Lin Kuei has already been revived by Sub-Zero.

I'm not so much sure what role the clan itself should be, but I think Sub-Zero should be promoted to more "important" stories. I imagine Noob Saibot will remain with his clan/army and fight Subz' Lin Kuei. I think Sareena should be an ally to the clan, but not necessarily an actual member. I think she should be doing her own thing (personally, I'd prefer her be the one who deals mainly with Noob Saibot).

If Sektor returns, he should stick with his Tekunin. They seem to be setting him up for a feud mainly with the Special Forces, but I'm more interested in his rivalry with Sub-Zero. If Cyrax returns, he should stick with the Special Forces. However, they could maybe use his connections to the Lin Kuei to create an alliance against Sektor. If Frost returns, she should remain an enemy of the clan...maybe align with Noob Saibot. If Shujinko should happen to return, I've no interest in seeing him involved with the Lin Kuei.

I would like to see the clan become established as a strong force for the good guys in future games and I wouldn't mind new members be introduced, provided they were unique and had a relevant role in the story. I don't want to see an army of Cyromancers running around whose only purpose in the game is to help the Lin Kuei. It wastes space, and goes against Sub-Zero's character...he values individualism.

Now, I'm not sure how many of these characters will or will not be returning, or what they plan on doing with the storyline (reboot?), but perhaps an evil Lin Kuei vs. good Lin Kuei battle? You can divide up the 8 former/current members into two Lin Kuei camps that are fighting for supremacy.

Sub-Zero
Cyrax
Sareena
Shujinko

Evil Lin Kuei:
Noob
Smoke
Sektor
Frost

Which ever side wins at the end of MK8 should be the NEW Lin Kuei. (That is, if the MK team ever decides to have a definitive ending to a storyline...)

i don't like the fact that they made Frost evil. i'm really upset that they went in that direction for her. But if she does return, i seriously hope that they make her good or at least neutral.

but other wise, i'm pretty sure that Sub-zero will have a bigger role in this next game if there is one. lol... and that if he does, make him like a new liu kang. though not make his story go completely stupid and down the drain. a character like sub-zero here doesn't deserve to have his story go downwards. his wardrobe, that's fine, but not his story and reason why he's in this mess.

I agree Sub-Frost, Subbie's story has gone down the tank. That's why I was suggesting that perhaps a "Lin Kuei War" storyline could help revitalize the character. I don't know, I'm just throwing it out there. I'd like to see the crew come up with mostly original characters but a few returning storylines could be interesting.

I never stated that Sub-Zero's story went downhill, I clearly stated that if Midway makes Sub-Zero the next Liu Kang, his story better not go downhill.

i hope they make frost good, cause shes just misguided. she wants the medallion to be strong and be new lin kuei leader, the fact sub-zero didnt leave her ass in some waist land, and instead placed her in a sarcophagus in the room of his newly discovered ancestors. it shows he really cares about frost allot regardless of what she tried to do.
i think the story for her should have sub-zero showing her that her ways will never work and that he cares alot to still teach her and want her to become strong, and that she needs discipline since she obviously doesn't know that she needs discipline to handle the madalians power. i think it should have sub-zero showing her she needs this and he can help her, and to look what happened to the other lin keui who went evil. one died and became a wraith, a few became cyborgs.
basically sub-zero shows her that she needs to be good and she eventually realizes hes right and becomes good. :)
