posted03/06/2009 07:10 PM (UTC)byacidslayervalve has made some impressive games like half life series, which has some gritty atmosphere that could be brought to mk if bought by valve.
id has made several doom games that cature evil at it's best, and i feel that id could reinvent the mk series if bought by id.
though these companies make great shooters they could most likely make a good mk game with the influence of ed boon and his team. all there is to be done is to use mk's imput along with the visual compliances of id or valve to make a great new looking mk game.

Not sure if you got the point, but he's talking about how evil these game companies make their games, and if Boon decides to coincide with them, together they could make an evil MK game, not a shooter.

these two company's have the dark atmosphere to make a true mk game with the look of death and destruction. have the fighting engine done compleatly done by the mk team but have all the characters and arenas done visually by valve or id.

Valve wouldn't be involved if the game stayed multi-plat. They develop for the 360 and PC, and for some reason have an extreme hate towards the PS3.
Don't give me the old "orange box went to ps3" crap either. That was ported by an in house at ea.

I'm not sure if we aren't getting a little ahead of ourselves here but:
Just my opinion, but I've never enjoyed a game made by Valve. I know, I'm in a very small minority here. Maybe it's because I'm not a fan of first person shooters. I know that Turtle Rock did Left 4 Dead, but I didn't enjoy that game one bit. I guess once you've blasted five hundred zombies, the next 10,000 doesn't seem quite so fun to me.
Oh well, that's more of knock on the genre as a whole I guess. The last FPS I actually enjoyed was the first Halo.
If I had my choice of any company making the next MK game (if we're going under the assumption that it's not Midway) than to me it's a no-brainer, you'd have to go with Namco. Soul Caliber is one of the most polished and complete fighters out there, plus they know how to make good weapons-based combat.
As far as American companies are concerned, I'd be cool with seeing what Cliffy B could do with MK. At the very least, you know the graphics would be good. Sure, the game would be glitchy as all hell and each character would look and sound like a dumb football player but hey, at least the graphics would be sweet lol.
Another idea, jumping across the pond again would be Silicon Knights. Sure, Too Human wasn't anything to write home about, but having ten thousand revisions of a game will do that. Eternal Darkness and the Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain both showed that SK is more than capable of producing great, dark atmosphere, great story and (oh man, if only) great voice acting.
I'd be curious to see what they could do with MK.

I would happt to see MK die with its team than get handeled with anyone else .
Any one who know MK well can see that no one other than the team can handle it .So why not having the whole team with you in the other company .BTW Midway got the green light from the court to start working on projects that would save them

why are you judging their ability based on looks? The graphic art is only a small part of the game, and looks aren't everything
These companies are known for one thing, First Person Shooters, not Fighting games, they are two completely different genre's. If anything you might have said that one of valve/id's art designers quit and went to Midway, and he would make everyone fight in places like"Portal pit", "City 17","Mars Base", or even a different Hell level.
Valve or id simply couldn't make MK, it just isn't them

And who are you to decide that? And even on what basis?
