I'm guessing it maybe to do with the story. Kind of not having anyone there to announce etc. I don't know

Glad someone brought up the announcer voice, because I actually dislike it very much. Very forced, almost as if he's shouting and saying it at a very weird pace. I loved MK2/3's announcer the best, that deep voice that was supposed to be Shao Kahn I guess. Very mysterious and dark.

Yeah it was only missing from the story mode matches. Also.. anyone else hate how the announcer doesn't say ___ wins or flawless victory in between rounds? He only does at the end of the match

That is the voice from mk9 recycled right i'm not just hearing things? Its not a big deal at all but it would be nice to have a new voice to give mkx its own flavor.

I miss the old music while fighting. It had a dark tone & fit mk well. Sad that's gone more than anything.

It's not recycled. Same voice actor, all new recordings.

Its going to be hard to find an announcer that can compare to Steve Ritchie.

Hands down the best MK announcer to date imo

The voice actor is Jamieson Price. He is known for his booming voice and has been the announcer in street fighter 4 and it's other versions, Lu Bu in Dynasty Warriors 5 - 8, and Algol from Soul Calibur.

Didn't notice any problem with the voice actor, he was good in MK9 and he seems to be good in this game.
