Quan Chi/Daegon statue in new level?

Quick question that I didn't see brought up anywhere else. In one of the new levels there is a statue that I thought was Quan Chi. Upon closer inspection it looks like Daegon but I'm still not sure. I think this level is right outside of the Lin Kuei temple judging by the story trailer, with mountains in the background. Anyone know who that statue is supposed to be of? I wonder what significance it has.

It sure did look like Quan Chi at first glance to me, but if it really is a Lin Kuei stage or on Lin Kuei territory, it might just be a statue of a/the Grandmaster or a statue of the clans original founder.

Although how the camera starts on the statue at the beginning of the video is intriguing, makes me think it has some sort of significance.

I thought it was Quan Chi also and when I found out it was located on the Lin Kuei headquarters was wondering why the Lin Kuei had a statue of him there lol
