from gamepro.com

GamePro: Warner obviously comes with a whole library of IP. What should we be looking for from Warner next?

MT: If you look at the landscape of publishers, you'll see is everyone has their own crown jewel. They have their own key franchises that they are they developing for a specific audience, that are expecting that game to come out, with quality. We're no different. We're very serious about Batman, we think Batman: Arkham Asylum showed that taking care of our own franchises can really change things, and can make for a very appealing game. Lord of the Rings is clearly very important to our future. Lego is clearly important. Mortal Kombat, you haven't seen anything yet, but we're very proud of what we have so far. We'll be showing very well at E3.

But we're not just a videogame publisher. What we're working on is building franchises. How can we maximize the exposure of our franchises in the marketplace? That's what's important for us. It doesn't stop at the game; we have commitments in movies, with a director. We have commitments in consumer products. We have commitments in home videos. We have commitments behind all our key franchises like LOTR and Batman/DC, and Mortal Kombat, and Lego. They're so big, we have to make sure we treat the franchises correctly, for the sake of the franchise itself.

Excellent! I am most impressed with this sentence - 'They're so big, we have to make sure we treat the franchises correctly, for the sake of the franchise itself.
I expect we'll see good things!

YEEEES! To be honest, I was pretty much 90% sure MK9 would be at E3. But still, this confirmation is great. I can't wait!!

Ya think we'll maybe even get a little taster before? Even if its something like one teaser pic...i hope so!

you know,

I was about to make a new thread entitled "strong proof that MK9 will be at E3 finally", but you beat me to it.

Actually, this is another piece of evidence that suggests of MK9's reveal at E3.

There was the following twitter post:

Pole dancin' Kitana. Oh my! http://tinyurl.com/2d9v8mj

if you go to the link, it's an interview with Tanya Jordan, who pole dances as Kitana.

Check out this comment she made:

"Jordan: In terms of preparing for Ms Fitness USA it will be more weight training, fine tuning my routine and, most importantly, diet. I have to make some modifications to my routine to add more floor work and martial arts. I have some new tricks up my sleeve for Nationals that will give it a bit more of a “Kombat” feel.

I plan on attending E3, Anime Expo, and Comic Con as Kitana between now and Nationals, so I have a little bit of play time as well."

so, there you have it, she says she'll make an appearance as Kitana at E3...that's a dead giveaway about MK9"s reveal.

and now even more evidence from gamepro...

it's good that we have confirmation

Glad we're finally getting news, but I won't get excited till I see game shots and footage for myself. Words are meaningless.

Lets not celebrate so fast. For all we know it could just be a lame teaser trailer. Trying not to get my hopes up.

Thanks for the news lead! I had no doubt in my mind that MK9 would be revealed at E3, but now that you found this, 100% clarification that indeed it will be shown there.

Now the wait goes on, very little time left. Unfortunately I will be gone for vacation during the week of E3, but when I get back I hope to see good things!

Though it's nice to see some news, I was hoping there would be a reveal before E3. Didn't someone say that a magazine was given exclusive footage 1.5 months ago?

Hey guys, remember that time I said that if there was no reveal by May, I'd tie myself to a tree and let you guys beat the shit out of me?

I peronally think we'll get something on the 11th. SpikeTV is unvieling a bunch of unannounced exculusives that day.

Ahhh so exciting!!
It really seems like they are taking this MK very seriously and to say they are proud of it is amazing!
I hope this is the MK that takes it to the top of the league of fighting games again. Where it belongs!grin

About fucking time!
E3 should be great for fighter fans,mk,capcom vs marvel3,soul calibur5, unknown thq fighter(pitt fighter rumoured),new ea fighter(fight night 5 or def jam rumoured),new dead or alive/ninja gaiden fighter and killer instinct. I expect to see 90% of these at e3.

So I guess the magazine that will have the images and article will be Game Pro I am assuming? I wonder if it will be before or after E3 though?

Yeah, the fighter genre is going o be coming back this year...I feel it in my bones. The fighter that I would love to finally here something about is Samurai Showdown. This E3 is going to be friggin' sweet either way!
