Boon's always enjoyed teasing the fanbase and giving us hints about what to expect. And he's usually really obscure when it comes to the hints, which is fun to speculate on. The last two reveals though, Boon nearly flat out told us who was coming. The moon tweet made Reptile really obvious just before we saw him and the same goes for the Bernie Mac tweet. He also showed off Kitana's fan right before she was revealed. I dunno, I kinda would prefer to watch the videos and not be going in to it expecting the character we're gonna see.

What do you think? Are Ed's pre-reveal confirmations getting you hyped or spoiling the surprise somewhat? tongue

I blame it on the Youtube screenshot previews, along with the name of said character reveal being shown.

This only effects us hardcore fans who know every nook and cranny of obscure MK lore. We are the 1%, so this is truly not an issue.

My casual gamer brother and coworkers didn't catch on to the hints. Even Boon said most ppl didn't guess Reptile after he tweeted the moon pic.

Most ppl don't know that ermac was an "error", and a lot of ppl thought Bernie Mac meant Jax.

Most MK gamers today weren't even born yet when MK1 came out, so it makes total sense for them to be completely in the dark about the "la luna" reference.

Anyway, we're only two and a half months away from release, so it seems like NRS is speeding up the character reveals so they can move on to other stuff like gameplay and storylines. I agree that the last few reveals have been pretty sloppy in that regard.

You have to behave like a casual fan, if you want to be surprised in the internet-age we live in.

unless of course hes hinting at someone different than who is going to be revealed, that would be pretty funny and awesome

I was totally hoping for that today. Ermac's great and all and I'm glad he's in the game, but momma's dying for her Mileena reveal.

I don't mind Boon's hints at all. In fact, I think they are a fun way of generating discussion on the board.

However, some of the Ermac hints were way too obvious. I'll admit the hint from "Big" (dancing to Heart and Soul) was actually very good, and it threw myself and some others off because I thought the clue there was the 'M' the characters' legs were making. But the Bernie Mac picture, and the tweet before the stream regarding an "error", that stuff is too easy.
