Ever since they Shocased the Masked Guard in the Sholin Monks video ever has asked "What was the reason for that?"

and then it kinda Dawned on me.

Do you think The MK team is trying to hint at us that They might be placeing old Background Characters as possible Selectable Fighters in MK7?

I dont think that is the case, as the masked guard is an account of what Kung Lao had to do in order to get into the tournament. Since the Shaolin society forbade him to enter the tournament, he disguised himself as a masked guard.

But mostly these guards represented MK1's time, so I really dont think they will play any role in MK7...
