One of the greatest features in Mortal Kombat's past has always been the VS screen, after both players have selected their characters and while the game loads before the match starts. I always loved looking at the characters looking at each other in great detail.

I noticed this was absent from MKX, and while I understand it's still very early, I hope this makes it in.

They were there in a new way. When you pick your character they face each other like that and do a motion. I like it how we've seen it in MKX more.

I hope that if VS loading screens return, that this time, we get to see characters wearing their alts, when said alts are selected.
VS screen NEEDS to be in, and probably will, who doesnt love the use of some kombat codes while waiting, its tradition in MK

VS screens only tended to appear when they had the kombat kode stuff. So unless they plan on doing that again, maybe there's no need.

I like the new way NRS is doing the loading screen, where the two fighters face off with each other after they're picked from the character select screen.

How about if both fighters are selected, as they appear now they face each other, and then the rest of the character squares disappear, and you see the "VS" logo in between them and the load bar. Then the match would load. It would give a great transition directly to the match.

My prediction for the final build of the game

Pick Fighter. Characters face each other
Pick Arena
Screen goes back to the fighters staring at each other with option to enter Kombat Kodes

Whoah! Don't be hurtin ma feelings like that mate :'(
In all seriousness, I don't think they will be returning for MKX. It seems they are going MKD loading screens. I don't mind it tbh.

I think the animated thing in the character select is a cool way to replace the vs screen.

Oh my I wasn't meaning it to come off like that lol I meant it seems not really fitting for this game, at least not the traditional vs screen. I kind of like how they have the animations where the characters face each other at the select screen.

I don't care either way. Not really that important to me. It's just a loading screen.

Yeah the way it's done at the character select is better.
