I just hope they won't do any drastic changes to the fighting engine. This is the most fun MK gameplay-wise ever for me and I hope they just take this engine and polish it further.

I wouldn't even mind if the X-ray animations remained the same as they are now.


As for the story, well... This game's story mode kinda killed my interest, so they can do whatever they want. I do hope however, that they continue from where this game's story ended because it means Fujin's chances of appearing in the next game are very big.

NRS's desire to try new things is good, but they just don't have the right mindset in certain areas. They need to cut down on the camp factor and truly make the series have a dark, serious ambiance instead of making things too silly and cartoony.

I'm fine with them trying new things, as long as it's logical and doesn't completely erase what this series is.

I hate people telling me, "You're just afraid of change" when they put Scorpion in a tutu and a wig.

Seriously, they've (finally) made a beautiful game. Stick with this engine. Stick with these characters. Add a few more and make a new story.

I'd rather have a new engine every three games or so than that Madden shit that Soul Calibur and Tekken have been pulling for a long time now. If I look at gameplay footage of a game that hasn't even come out yet and my reaction is "Why would I pay for something I already own?", there's a problem there and it ain't on my end.

You can justify it however you want, but the simple fact is that Soul Calibur and Tekken have fighting engines that MK would kill to be half as good as.

Having guest characters, BAD!

And yet, sales figures that inspire no envy.

Ed's been saying for years that the specific reason they change it up all the time is he looks at those guys, sees their sales in constant decline because they make the same game over and over again, and doesn't want to make the same mistake.
And his philosophy seems to work since MK constantly manages to outsell Tekken without even being sold in Japan. They're ignoring a whole major country of gamers and still winning.
By the way, what the hell is up with the new username? You get banned or something?

They need to refine and add to the strong elements and discard the shit, obviously.

The story hasn't been very good since MK4, might be good if they could be consistent and bring some chinese mysticism back, it could help bring back some nostalgic feelings of the old games. The music plays an important role in this also.

Also things like Quan Chi having his MK:DA costume instead of his MKM/MK4 was a total abomination, the Pit 2 replacing the Pit 1 was absurd, etc, etc.

If I had been banned, this would be ban evasion and I would be banned again.

Obviously, I have not been banned.
Edit: I'm not impressed by Mortal Kombat's sales figures.
