No More Health Bar In MK8
I remember for the last few games Ed Boon talked about a wear and tear feature, this I would like to see determine your health in the game instead of the Health Bar. The reasons why is because it could make the game alot more interesting, instead of having a direct visual above your head you could be amped to see that the moves you are doing to your opponent are really putting a beating on him/her and it is vice versa. Def Jam Icon had that feature and the game was pretty neat when it had that, so in terms of Mortal Kombat would you rather see this idea or the standard health bar?

I haven't played that Def Jam game you're talking about, so the most I could say is to have them adapt the high points of a system like that. Maybe just the visual aspects of it.
How about having both for that matter. An attack should reflect damage on the characters anyway...that's how I feel about it until I get more knowledge about that kind of system.

I would rather have no health bar. Why? because then, this feature will indeed let you see how much damage u are inflicting and how much damage is being done to you. Also with that feature, they could probably make it all one match so that it would be longer in length and u get more time to explore the invironment depending on how big the stages are. (I hope they expand the stages so that u can go anywhere. For example, if u are in front of a building, kick his/her ass through the door and there's more to the stage. How cool is that?) You can watch thier faces get more messed up throughout the match and they even begin to sweat. Now how would u know when the match is almost over? Easy u would here a sound that lets u know that u are in danger like previous MK games. I'm not saying that this would definatley work out, or that it will happen. I just like the idea of having no health bar, because this is what I vision and it's my opinion. Besides it was fake to toss your opponent into a death trap in the first round, just to see them come back to life for the second round. I mean didn't he just die a second ago? Make it one long match or at least give it as an option.

Def Jam Icon and Fight Night Round 3 do a great job of not having a health bar on screen and letting you know how much damage you have before left before you die. Id like to see MK8 have a similar feature.

That's actually a good idea and it would really make the game a bit more interesting.

I like it. It could draw players in, as they would be focused on the damage they appear to be taking, instead of being tied to the "primitive" health bar. I think a health bar option would be handy if it were included, though. If they do include this, just have it as the default option.

I need my health bars. Yeah, it's a neat idea but it just wouldn't work in a fighter like MK. Perhaps you could have a health system like in Tao Feng or something, like a compromise between the two.

The thing is, MK isnt a boxing game. There arent just punches being thrwn, but projectiles, blood flowing everywhere, and not to mention the weapons. It wouldn't work out. I want to know what my health is so I can play more strateigically in MK. I need to know if I should play offensively, or defensively.
