I hope MK 8 does not have dial a combo. It would be nice if the next game had a combo system like Soul Calibur, Tekken, or even better MKSM! The dial a combo system makes the characters look stiff and just downright stupid. Does anyone else here agree or disagree with me?

i haven't played tekken 5 yet, but the las one i played had dial combos in it.

every fighting game has dial combos to some degree. weather they fell like it or not, they're in there.

I thought soul calibur's combo system was horrendous. It was stiffer than MK IMO. I think I'm one of the few ppl that seem to like MKs current fighting mechanic and combo system.

oh, so when you look at the moves list on tekken and it says "square triangle, square" its a string, but in mk its a dial combo?

yea ok. tekken does have strings, but it also HAS dial combos.

OMG! were you complaining about dial a combos when you were young because fighting games are built on combos if you say damn dial a combo what are we supposed to do. DO moves with your deh deh dehhhhhhhhhhhh power. You are a fool there is no other way, you might as well be saying lets take the guns out of first person shooters. I mean seriously tell me where the sense in your logic comes from. If you have a better fighting system recommended they are no longer fighting games thay are adventure games! Think about whay your saying before you start messing around with the classiks. All were ever gonna get is variations until we can control games with our telekenisis which im hoping to see in about 30 years. Because if we are still uing controllers then im gonna be pissed.....

OMFG....strings and dial a combo are two completely different things. Strings are not guaranteed and can be interrupted. Dial a Combos are guaranteed from the first hit.

Do you see the difference? That's why the Tekken system is better than the Mk system. At least the victim has a chance in Tekken while the MK player has to eat it.

That's why juggles are more important in Tekken..they can't be interrupted. Combos in Tekken usually require a certain amount of skill and timing as well. Not everyone can perform the combos.

Thanks! I like MKSM very much, especially because of string combos. I'll admit Tekken is my favorite fighting series now because of better graphics and combo system. After MK2 things just started to become crappy and unoriginal. That's why they tried to capitalize on the MK2 theme for MKSM, which was nice. I like MK for its fantasy settings and stages. Pit 2 is my all time favorite stage.

dial combos came in MK3. I like all the MK fighting games, and I like the added in for the dial combos. The flaw as said before, once it hits, you have to take it. I think MK should have not limit the breakers, maybe 3 breakers per round, and not per match. That should even it out I belive.

Well the dial a combo system wasn't that bad in MK3, it was tolerated. Since MKDA, the characters move so slow and there is a delay when typing in the buttons for a combo.
