Next Mk game should ingore previous storylines and start fresh! (please read)

The next Mk game should ingore previous storylines and start fresh. In my opinion, the current storyline of MK is just so complicated and messed up and I honestly dont think it can't be resolved. The only way I think this can be corrected is by destroying the entire storyline and starting a brand new MK story set in a different universe.

This approach can be similiar to the ultimate marvel universe, which was created because the old marvel series had some convulated stoylines, a situation which caused many readers to stop reading comics in the 90s. I also believe twisted metal black did the exact same thing to the twisted metal series, in terms of re-inventing the story.

So the new MK game should erase the entire storylines and start fresh from the beginning, in order to get rid of all the messd up confusion. The game doesnt necesarily have to be the exact same story from MK1, although it can have themes from the game. E.g Evil sorceror hosting tournament in uncharted island.

It would also be interesting to see some returning characters with brand new origins. E.g Sub-zero and Scorpion are brothers, but turn against each other when they joined opposing clans.

That wasnt the best example, but are you guys feeling me?

Gotta say... feeling the burning...

I agree. But to reinvent... hope they make it close to old mk1. Don't screw it up by adding two secret guys, and double the movie stars, Bruce Lee rip offs, and other things like that. Keep it at 7 starters, one secret, and a sub boss and real boss.

Yup, that's exactly want I am talking about. Back in 1990 i can see how adding an actor or a bruce lee rip-off was cool in a fighting game, but not anymore. The storyline and characters should appeal to today's society.

Gosh, I hope Midway sees this thread!!!

Midway and Boon probably see what the fans make as dumbass stuff that they can ignore, without realizing most of their fanbase wants that. They end up making a game that makes no sense, and has too much of something, and is way too comical.

I remember reading somewhere that their original plan was to actually get Van Damm to play the Johnny Cage character in MK1 and when he refused to play him they made Cage into something of a parody of him. In a way, Mk is pretty much an homage to almost any Martial Arts film from Enter the Dragon to Big Trouble in Little China. I don't think that Boon spends a lot, if any time reading these posts because in the end, if he gave us what we asked for no one would like it because it isn't our creativity that made the game so great, it was his.
Lucas went with a lot of his fans suggestions and look what a steaming monkey arm Star Wars became.

I want that EVERYONE will die, so they will end up totally fresh, with opriginal characters, moves and storyline ( fresh and new storylines ), and not the boring extended non-sense storylines tha MK has now.

First off i agree with all of that but do NOT knock bruce lee he could kick all of our asses from beyong the grave like his son brandon lee(the crow). Two people should be left alive strike that 3 people scorpion rayden and sub-zero with as kingjolly said all new origins. And as for the creativity of the game i never played it because of the storyline. I played it because they always took the initiative with fighting games and invented fun new ways to beat the crap out of your brothers at a video game. So as long as the boon man keeps doing something new with the fighting system it's all good baby.

Word...but I think I would prefer a re-make of mk (with new twists in order to prevent the "boring extended non-sense storylines."
