Hypothesis, btw - Since MK is so sexist toward the females, I'm guess this male vampire, if he ever appears, will be all covered up and dressed respectively, unlike Nitara who was dressed like a stripped-down pirate witch for her prime, and like a gothic stripper for her alt.

MK lacks way too much eye-candy for female players. Johhny and Shao Kahn are the only dedicated hoochie daddies I am sure of. I hope the male vampire becomes another for god's sake.

As far as the male vampire goes, I think it would be a great idea. I already had an Idea for a vampire character and a good storyline to fit in with Nitara (I don't wanna bore you with the details) but the fact of the matter is, that there are only too many ways to throw in a vampire characters with Nitara.

it seems that people fail to realize that Ed Boon said that MK8 will be TOTALLY NEW. New everything including characters. That doesnt mean that there will be new characters, that mean ALL NEW characters. and why the FUCK would they bring Nitara back out of everyone they could. Im willing to bet a PERMA Ban from this website that NItara wont be in MK8

There will need to be someone to bridge the gap between the new MK and the old. So although I believe the MAJORITY will be new I doubt they will ALL be new. But I am not sitting next to Boon typing this...so we will see when it comes out. I just hope to God they tighten up the gameplay and the graphics.

First off those ARE original characters....secondly who will make it to MK8 wont be based on originality of characters. Lets face it Havok was original..but I would be shocked if he made it to the next game. The characters i just mentioned are characters who are hallmarks of the series. Use your brain guy...if there were all new characters with a all new fighting system then what would be the point it would be MK by name ONLY. It needs someone or some characters to "KEEP IT MORTAL".

I get really frustrated when people take Ed Boon's idea for a make-over to the extreme. There will be returning characters. Hasn't Boon confirmed Sub-Zero and Scorpion for the game? I think that pretty much eliminates the "ALL NEW CHARACTERS" philosophy.

As for a male vampire, I thought the idea was good for Deception. It was the most fleshed out idea for a character I have ever created in my mind. I basically pictured him as a pretty boy vampire, with some speed and strength to him, that used a scythe in battle. He'd be either Nitara's brother, or a close confidant, so when she goes missing while trying to separate their realm from Outworld (or now, as it would likely be, after Nitara disappears in Armageddon), he travels the realms looking for revenge.

I personally don't think Nitara has any gas left in her tank. Considering Armageddon is meant to wipe most characters out, I don't think she was important (or skilled enough, in storyline terms) to survive. This new male vampire could be different, though.

I kinda disagree. The plot is seriously dragged down but inconventially many characters, who apparently have no connection to the major outcome of the plot, -which is a good thing in my book though- but the over-all MK is practically a beaten horse.

Do not presume that classics are guaranteed quality, characters like Scorpion are practically anchoring their own storylines, and designwise, outdated. And not to mention the shitloads of character from the MK2-MK4 era who have absolutely no charisma or whatsoerver. Do you seriously think that reiko or Tanya have any serious staying power? Or if we are at it, do you think that Kano is up to date as a character concept in 2007? Not really....
