Zaterra was destroyed by Shinnok in a war with Raiden set 10,000 years before the events of Mortal Kombat 4. There is nothing for Reptile to save. The survivors of that devestating time were Reptile's anscestors who were enslaved by Kahn. Also, Reptile knows nothing of his race and he has lingered as Kahn's servant for years. Khameleon is another descendant of the survivors of the destroyed realm who knows where her history lies. If anything I would have a game of Khameleon's first encounter with Reptile and show him that his entire existence has been an illusion by Shao Kahn. That could make Reptile turn on Kahn. Look at Reptile's endings in MK2 and MK3, and you will see where I am coming from.
