Just out of curiosity, what makes you say Jarek won't return?

They say he's a copycat of Kano. He has Kano's moves. As the fans say, he's worthless.

I can't argue with that, especially how he was in in MK4. Same could be said for Shinnok though, he was an exact replicant of Shang Tsung without the morphing. He still had every other characters moves though, but didn't bring anything new to the table. I still think Jarek will return for MK10, but with his own identity this time and not just a cheap rip-off of Kano. I doubt any of the cast from MK4 won't make the next installment, but that's just my prediction.

So anyway new character ideas please? Oh! Maybe add some MKDA characters along with some from Deception.

Deadly Alliance - Deception characters could make an appearance in the next game as long as they're written in a way where they make sense as to why they're there.

For example, Frost. She can be written in a way where instead of being a recruit to Sub-Zero's new Lin Kuei, she was a Lin Kuei student already who may have managed to escape being automated into a cyborg. She could either be picked up by the heroes and be trained to become a good guy, or she may have gotten picked up by some random bad guy and be bad.

So it'd be a twist, but not that much seeing how she's still considered a student from the Lin Kuei who is in need of training.

Also, I stated this before, I'd like to see a witch doctor-type character, an angelic fighter, or a winged character that flies during the entire match not just in moves.

I'm not much for new characters, unless they can somehow by important or useful. I'd like for the to keep the focus on the already established characters, give them better stories and everything.

I've been thinking a Red Dragon Kombatant should be there. It's clear Taven and Daegon knew Shinnok before his fall from Elder God status. And Daegon kinda sorta takes orders from Shinnok in Armageddon. So wouldn't it make sense for Daegon to send a representative to aid in Shinnok's war against Earthrealm and Outworld?

Or am I mistaken? (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong)

Now the problem is..what you have is Daegon (Kratos lookalike), Mavado (Kabal wannabe but with stretchy ropes) and...Hsu Hao. Or they retcon Darrius back to being Red Dragon.

None of them sound good BUT what if you were to make a composite character out of all the lame candidates like say...

You take Darrius' looks taken from the Concept art in Deception but infuse him with Mavado's smarmy personality/high rank in the Red Dragon and Hsu Hao's only good thing about him...the Sun-Moon Blades.

I have a feeling Belokk will make an appearance in MK10. After all he was going to be in Gold and this will be the perfect opportunity to introduce him, since he was going to be present during this time period anyways.

But he's technically Eurocom's property, so they can't really introduce him in anything without their permission.

I imagine Sektor bringing her up as her apprentice, with plans to eventually automate her. He'd find her freezing powers pretty useful.

But Sub-Zero has to still defeat him and become Grandmaster before that happens. Because Frost being Sub-Zero's apprentice is essential to her story.

I could see a few characters from MK4 not making the cut. Mostly because I really do think a good chunk of the characters from the "first" game coming back.

Jarek - for the above reasons, yes they could make him a whole new character or Remix!Kano in terms of move set. But we have Kano and he is still alive and Jarek didn't look that great in 4 and Armageddon.

Reiko - People only really started liking him when he was revealed in Armageddon with the Mini Shao Kahn outfit. Other than that he has a Japanese girls name.

Maybe make Shinnok unplayable. Boost up his badassness.

Ok thats about it - Kai, Tanya and Fujin from MK4.

Also Sareena. We need more shipping material. No we dont but Sareena is cool. Also chuck in Kia and Jatakka as a hidden endurance fight in the style of classic Reptile, Jade and Noob Saibot.

In terms of characters from Deadly Alliance and Deception joining the Brawl.

Blaze - God no.
Bo Rai Cho - I like him. So yes.
Drahmin - Hmm. I see potential but nope.
Frost - I like her, and she could be a cool little Sub Zero remix.
Hsu Hao - No. Kano took his only cool feature.
Li Mei - No. Always found her to be a bit unfitting. A square peg in a round hole.
Mavado - I like him but his gimmicks are more 3D game based so he would need a lot of tweaking.
Mokap - Challenge tower boss.
Moloch - I liked Moloch. He was weird.
Nitara - Yes.

Ashrah - Hmm, Baring in mind I want Sareena, Kia and Jatakka involved in someway Ashrah could be a female demon too much.
Dairou - He could work in a "smaller" Mortal Kombat. One where people fight for their own personal reasons. Not because they work for maniacs etc. But No.
Darrius - Nope. As above really.
Havik - Yes.
Hotaru - Yes. And I know he has a Japanese girls name.
Kira - I like Kira but I dont know where she could fit.
Kobra - Nope
Onaga - No, Maybe for Mortal Kombat 3... I mean 11... XI... Whatever.
Shujinko - As above.

What? Jarek will be in MK10!!! They need him there :)

The only reason why Jarek attained Kano's moves and fatalities in MK4, is because Kano wasn't there and Jarek was part of the Black Dragon.

Apart from the MK4 Kast, I would like to see these characters....

Long Overdue for confirmation.

Jarek was a cheap copy of Kano and Shinnok was a cheap copy of Shang Tsung in MK4. Most people seem to really dislike Jarek, but there's potential to make him a cool character with a new move set and a good story if they choose to do so. Shinnok has all the potential in the world because of his status as a fallen elder god, but he has the most to make up for after his abysmal showing in MK4. He just copied other characters' moves for crying out loud and didn't even morph in to them. Didn't have one original move himself either, not even a fireball. His fatalities were pretty good though (the giant skeleton hands).

With that little rant out of the way, I really think Netherrealm is going blow us away with Shinnok in MK10. I loved his cameo at the end of the last game and they really nailed his voice and evil persona in that brief scene. I really hope to see a great move set and interesting god like powers from him. I'm predicting a return of the skull hands in either his special moves or fatalities. Can't wait to see what they do with his story as well and how they make him a different kind of threat than Shao Khan.

Any "originals" you guys can think up on?

I also hope Shinnok is playable by unlocking or through DLC. He also needs OMFG Fatalities as all the characters do.

If Quan Chi is there too, he needs his Skull Wall as a special move.

Personally I'd like it if all the characters from MK9 come back then add in the MK4 characters(Kai, Reiko, Tanya, Fujin, Jarek) and Bo Rai Cho,Kenshi and maybe Frost but other than that the rest can disappear. But what I want the most is 4 legs Motaro as a Sub Boss fight b/c with these next-gen systems they could pull it off and since this is a different timeline now and he wasn't apart of the MK3 storyline they could slide him in as Shinnok's boss taking Goro's place in the original MK4.

The special forces announcement by Kiefer makes me believe they might introduce some new characters and replacing the ones in the old timeline with new characters. Replacing Tremor for Khrome could be one of those. I could also see Khrome being a Lin Kiue (spelling error?) who had escaped automation by hacking the cyborgs and making himself a 'red asset' which means the cyborgs see him as V.I.P. and cannot capture him because he programmed it that way.

Dude, shut the fuck up about Khrome. No one gives a shit and stop pretending everyone at Netherrealm even knows who the fuck you or your knock-off character are.

Perhaps Tremor will be played somehow.
