To put it easier, since I think the returning roster will be far less, I'll list who I think is returning:

Sub-Zero
Reptile
Quan Chi
Kung Lao
Raiden
Cyrax
Baraka
Kenshi

The only characters I'm relatively certain won't be coming back are Sonya and Johnny. I'm sad to see them go, but with Cassie in the mix, there just doesn't seem to be room for them on a limited roster.

Given that the roster is limited, and there seems to be a focus on new characters and storytelling, I'm not willing to be we'll only see very core characters come back.

Kitana, Raiden, Liu Kang, and Quan Chi seem like good candidates. Tanya, too, if only because there seems to be a lot of fan momentum, and because of the (possible) voice actor leak.

sonya johnny cage and raiden are the only good guys who survived mk9 remember, theyre coming back, i doubt they wil completely ignore the storyline set up in the last game.. my prediction this will be johnny and sonya's last game, i think theyll bite the dust and in doing so pass the torch to cassie.. i dont like this complete revamp of the roster though, its gonna piss alot of people off knowing that their favourite characters might be gone for good..

I think chances are slim for

- Johnny Cage and Sonya (given their daughter is now around)
- Majority of dead characters from MK9 (Kung Lao and Kitana possibly have best chances)
- Shang Tsung
- Goro
- Kintaro
- Motaro
- Shao Kahn (for now)
- Baraka
- Sindel
- Sheeva
- Skarlet
- Khameleon/Chameleon
- Rain
- Reiko
- Jarek
- Meat
- Mokap
- Any MKDA, MKD and MKA newcomers (other than Kenshi)
