my story idea for MK8

the way i see it is that at this point there are 2 options for Midway

1:they continue their current sory lineand use sektor's ending and the main story which states that all three cyborgs combined into a big monster. this xcreator could be the boss and could enslave every realm while the "resistance"(mainly the SpF characters)fight back.it could be called mortal kombat reprogrammed or mortal kombat rise of the machines

2:they will scrap the story completlyand make a game called mortal kombat the next generation which will have a a hero from earthrealm who seeks to be taught martial arts.through many conflicts he heres of the mortal kombat tournement and decides to compete

First of all, don't bump your thread just to prompt for responses.

Now onto the thread itself.

I don't like either of your ideas, and I can't really take you all that seriously.

The first idea is bad, because it makes Sektor into the main villain, and I personally don't find him to be high-level villain material.

The second idea doesn't give as many details as it would kind of need. The character concept of someone seeking to learn martial arts is something that would work better as a backstory to that character. Having the character want to learn martial arts and decide to take part in a Mortal Kombat tournament without having martial arts experience would likely get killed.

"Rise of the Machines" would be a copyright conflict with Terminator 3, no? As for the idea itself, I don't think Sektor's evil enough to be a villain. It's a bit silly to assume that Smoke and Cyrax would even ally themselves with Sektor, seeing as they're both good.

As for number 2, I can't see them totally scrapping the storyline that they've been working on for the past 15 years.
