I hope they do kill off most the characters given the fact that there are so many story lines and factions that they can't keep up with them all. We've got characters from half a dozen different realms, each with their own plots and allies. Cut it down again to something manageable. That being said: Many of the endings in MKA had the character become some kind of super being and then hunted down by other characters. I bet Midway runs with that story for MK8. Example - Sub Zero becomes the ice god or whatever and all the champions of the elder gods go after him. Sub Zero is your ultimate boss, maybe Frost or Smoke is the sub boss (with some considerable improvement from Sub Zero's new god powers) and then you have the elder god warriors replacing the earth warriors
