I'd be pissed if it were Frost over Fujin. I'd be really interested in Sareena though, we've never gotten the chance to play as her on a 2D plane. I think with proper care, she could be a great addition to the fold.

Well that's good about Goro but c'mon... you're legit kidding yourself if you don't think it's gonna be male and female. They did it with Injustice, I'm assuming it'll be the same this time. Honestly, if you ask me, Sareena is just as deserving as Fujin and I like them both. They've both been incredibly shafted, Sareena almost more-so.

But what about the people who want ALL the content but DO mind having to pay extra? Or worse, like me, can't use internet on console, therefore it's impossible to download anything?
But it SHOULDN'T be the norm. It's a crass obvious money-grabbing manoeuvre that any company who had respect for their customers wouldn't dream of pulling. CHANGE the norm, SMASH the status quo by voting with your feet (wallets) and speaking out against this financial malpractice.

It's just extra added content for the game. What do you want NRS to do, make a 40 character roster and include every character every player wants in the initial game? While we're at it, let's just pop in all the skins possible and give every one 4+ costumes. It doesn't work like that.
DLC isn't forced upon you. You make the choice on spending the money or not. If you don't want to, that's fine, you have other 25+ characters to play with. Some people wouldn't mind spending the extra money on the characters.

That's all well and good, but has been pointed out time and time again - if DLC didn't exist, we wouldn't be getting any of that content.
If we 'smashed the status quo', then we would have one set roster, and nothing more. No Tanya, no skins, no nothing....
And you know what? We had that - it was called Mk1-MKArmageddon. Once the game came out, that was that. Complete. Finished.
Now there is an option to continuously update the game - and because that costs money, wowee, most groups charge for that.
SOME DLC is very dodgy, it's true. Being paid to unlock content already on disc, stripping the game down to its bare bones so you're forced to pay for expanded content. All that is a worry...
But it's NOT what's happening with MKX. Jason and co. are well behind the rest of the fighters. They're not finished, and won't be in time to ship. Which means they are indeed extra content, and the price of that is the price. You and yours might WANT to get it all immediately and for free, but that's not how the world works. I want Kylie Minogue to be at my door right now, but she's not and Tanya costs money.
It sucks if you can't get internet on your console - I've been there, trust me - but because a minority of players can't do something doesn't mean that they're going to delay the game so they can add characters that never would have made it in the first place. It's 'extra' content for a reason. Until they do something truly duplicitous, don't have a coronary.

There lies your problem. There are companies like Rockstar, and NRS who know full well to make their set release date, there just simply is NOT enough time to polish, balance and smooth out all the fine details in your game if you're constantly cramming more shit in all the time. That's the reason Heists were delayed so long for GTA V and went through several different iterations before official release, they didn't want to put out a shit product for their fans. Same is probably the case for NRS, they didn't want to tack on extra characters that wouldn't feel as smooth as the others in the roster, thus they are saved for after the main game's development cycle when they can receive the time and care they need to be as smooth and balanced as everyone else.
Goes double with a fighting game where you have to make sure every character is balanced and the match-ups play almost perfectly. Even more when its a fighting game like MK that prides itself on so much extra content like the Towers, the Krypt, Factions and we can't forget the massive undertaking that is the Story Mode. There just simply is not enough time to get all that shit done if stuff keeps getting added. They've already been plotting, planning and developing this game since AT LEAST 2013 that we know of, probably 2012. It's not as easy as most people think where they can go to their publishers and say "Hey guys, we know you have that set date and have done all the marketing.... but we really need four to five extra months so we can shovel in some more characters, k?" In a perfect world, OF COURSE studios would say yes in a heartbeat but this is the real world and in this case, its about business and it just does not work that way unless there is no doubt the game would be practically unplayable by that point in time when the release date roles around (see Batman: Arkham Knight).
As for your case without internet on your console, all I really have to say is tough luck. It sucks and I feel for you but in an age where DLC reigns, digital purchasing is the norm with downloading full games straight to your console hard-drives, it's all about moving on with the times or being left behind. We are in a golden age of gaming where developers can extend the lives of their games by YEARS thanks to extra content, constant patches and fixes, fine-tuning of multiplayer that can be fixed within' mere days or even hours... It's practically endless what developers can do now. I mean, Jesus, GTA V alone has had at least a dozen (or almost a dozen) updates now that adds tons of shit every time to a game that is going to be 2 years old this year. And they're STILL working on MORE content in the way of solo Story Campaign stuff. That is fucking amazing. Rockstar has the distinct advantage of being able to put out all this free content because their games make billions upon billions of dollars. Mortal Kombat, however, does not. Fighting games in general do not.
So if I can help NRS extend the lives of MK9, MKX and future MK's by buying extra characters at $5 a pop (thanks to the pre-order discount) of course I'm going to do it, because I love this franchise, I love its characters, and I want these games to stay as popular and relevant as they can on the online world for as long as possible. Besides, compared to what Capcom does with Street Fighter, MK is hardly 'evil' when it comes to DLC.
Besides, what world do you expect to live in? You act as if games are the only industry that do this. Selling extra crap is something everyone does. Look at movies with Special Editions, Ultimate Editions, 4 Disc Collector's Editions.... Music with 2 Disc Special Editions, Re-Mastered Editions.... It's all bullshit money-grabbing maneuvers because it's all under the same logic; BUSINESS. It sucks, but that's the way it works.
I was the 1st to suggest the Predator to be included in MK in 2010!

Well, all pleasant surprises except for Tanya. I've never liked that character... and she looks like crap. I guess we'll have to see what she can do in game.
Despite my user tag which has nothing to do with that character, I'm not particularly excited about Predator...but I at least think he's a fitting choice for DLC. I'm interested and that's all I'll say.
Jason is an odd choice. Not particularly interested in him either, outside of fatalities. I expected Spawn to be honest. I caught the combo movie pack at Wal-Mart that has the Mortal Kombat movie and Spawn together. What was the logic here?
Tremor looks badass tho. I'm glad they finally got that out of the way. Let's see what he can do.
Anyway, an interesting set of DLC characters to say the least.
...and Tanya looks like crap. lol

Tone down Tanya`s makeup, she looks like she`s already taken some hits to the face.
Perhaps her ``helpful`` husband applied her eye shadow...
Great to hear in the mokap piece she keeps her boomerang. All the Edenian females seem to be partially wind elemental or have a thrown weapon. Maybe she is Jade`s sister? Jade being given to the Emperor as a child, with Tanya growing up in the Diplomatic household instead of being Shao`s personall assassin & the Princesses` bff. OH! Was she `Lady in Purple`` from MK9?
Tremor is only konsidered a klassik, because he`s litterally THE LAST PALLETTE SWAP NINJA.
This is his 3rd game appearance now, and he`s been given an individualized look too. The brown hood & black mask, and his straps make him look like the Prison guards in Mythologies, the ones from the promotional art, though in game they used battle axes, and threw ``S`` shaped blades. Kinda like how ``Cloak`` was tacked perfectly onto Ermac(Jerrod.
So if he`s Tremor... Then WHO IS ERRON BLACK?!
We can`t have 2 brown ninjers...

I don't mind about DLC characters, but only if it's months after the game is released. C'mon. The game isn't even released and they already have a 4 character DLC pack that costs half of the game. This is not normal, sorry. They could have included them with the initial game, like they would have done 10 years ago when you actually paid for a complete game. By buying these overpriced DLCs you're just encouraging them to fuck you in the ass even more. What next? We'll have to pay a $50 DLC to unlock the second half of the Story Mode?

Currently lost my heart to a Egyptian girl. So I'm totally fine with the Egyptian look they gave Tanya. Congrats to the Tanya fans for having her in MKX!
Tremor really swiped me of my feet. never expected nRs to cave in and make him a playable character. Looks promising though. I've always been neutral on him. Now he's in, and there's a big chance I'm buying him.
Jason I don't care about. I do like Predator. Seems like I'm getting at least 3 out of 4 DLC characters.

Me, here I am over here, so kalm and happy about Tanya just being konfirmed playable in MKX.

I believe its less her reveal and more of her appearance. That face is downright dreadful. But give it time, NRS might fix it.
Boon just confirmed that the DLC characters who can talk, will talk!!
Tanya obviously does, Predator does talk but like a parrot so that wouldn't be too hard to implement though it might become very annoying, Jason never talks and Tremor probably will not talk (I hope he's not human!).
What you guys think?

Eh. I'm not too happy with Tanya or Tremor as the two "Klassic Characters"
If I absolutely had to, I would take Tanya over Tremor because she was actually in a MAIN version of an MK game. The only reason as to why Tremor is in this game is because of that online petition that I thought NRS wasn't taking seriously. Evidently, I was wrong.
Was getting Tremor a community win overall? Something tells me that his inclusion in the game is only pleasing a certain portion of the MK community. I'm almost positive they are either a niche group of individuals who actually wanted him in the game all these years or people who were bored, got on the "FEEL THE TREMOR" petition and figured: "Why not?"
We'll see. I'm hoping for two things to happen with these two characters.
1) I play with them and they completely floor me with their gameplay and I regret making this post.
AND/OR
2) NRS releases more characters to download after this initial Kombat Pack.
Either way, still can NOT wait for this game.

You nailed it man. Tremor is not, and never will be, a "classic character". And you're right...those 4000+ votes? It's a niche, smal group in the overall MK fanbase. Frankly I wouldn't be surprised if anywhere from 1200 up to even 2500 of those 4000+ votes were repeat voters using different e-mails to register. The Tremorons would definitely do something like that.
Even though I despise guest characters, I'm glad to see Predator made it in. Definitely will be worth it in that regard.
As far as Tremor, well...he is good for ONE thing - I need some worthless piece of shit to beat on in practice mode and test fatalities on, so Tremor is it. I'll post a twitch link video for all you Tremorons to watch him get beat on, too.

...For what it's worth, I think I managed to control myself pretty well. The Netherkast video should be up within the hour I think.
Now, clearly, I'm very far from fucking enthused that the pack contains one character I hate and two guest characters.
On the other hand, maybe this will finally, finally get people to shut up about him, and to be optimistic, this is their chance to make him into something worthwhile. For what it's worth, I get a Dune feel from him, like he's cut from the same cloth as Kabal; he really reminds me of the Fremen. That's pretty cool.
Tanya looks rather Egyptian, which I find interesting. Her face looks jacked though, I have a feeling she's a work in progress. Very happy she's in; cheers to her fans.
This should all be very interesting, for better or worse.
I think I need to lie down.

Great reaction video. A lot of interesting points.

So Ed has spoken out about Tremor;

Is there any one demand from fans that was most prevalent, that is present in Mortal Kombat X?
"Character roster stuff has been a big one. There's a really big push for the obscure character we have, Tremor, which I got so many tweets from players wanting that character. It actually stood out to me as odd, but there was this swell of people pushing for it with petitions online and all of this crazy stuff, so we included him, and a big reason was because of fans yelling loud enough."
