Tough to say why they haven't shown it. I imagine they prefer to show off the better of the versions, which is obviously the PS4, XBone, and PC. Ed said they (NRS) where not making the last gen versions, as they would be ported by a third party company. They are still using Unreal Engine 3 so don't expect a huge difference in last gen graphics.

Games like Titanfall didn't show off their last gen counterpart and it was apparently very similar to the XBone version...they kept it quiet in order to push XBone sales.

I wouldn't expect to see anything from the last gen before it launches, unless they have a demo. It ought to look pretty good though...Injustice looked great. Hopefully it holds up okay.

As long as it doesn't look worse than MK9 or Injustice it's fine by me. Some gameplay footage before release is a must for me though, not going to buy it without having seen it first.

Id say at least as good as MK9 graphics, maybe a little better.

It will likely look similar to Injustice, though I have no clue how they are going to handle the gore tech, environments, particals and special effects, etc.

my guess is it will be small stuff missing like particle effects and textures. the new systems are just better equiped to deal with that kind of shit. the core experience will be the same but the 360 will have to make sacrifices to hit the 60fps/1080p mark. i dont develop for NRS or any other studio though so we'll see lol

Well Injustice looks better on 360 and PS3 then MK9, and I think MKX will look better than that. Should be very close to the next gen versions, except maybe certain fatality and x-ray details.

same. I'm gonna get it for both my XB1 and 360 and do two playthroughs back to back just to try and spot the differences. XB1 first, of course.

Yeah like I'd buy a 350 dollar console just to play one game with slightly better graphics, when I can keep my regular one and play a slightly watered down version of the game.

Mkx isn't the only reason to get next Gen. I got next Gen before the game was even announced iT's plenty of other reasons and games to upgrade but I won't waste my time saying them because they are obvious. And to some people maybe it Is. I remember my uncle bought a ps3 when it first released for 600 dollars And the only game he plays is Madden.

I think the fatalities and things like that will be prerendered cutscenes as opposed to in-engine, and the particle effects and whatnot will be cut down drastically.

Your going to buy a new console eventually, why not now for an awesome game. it'll be worth the money in the long run

Initially, it will be released with MkDA textures. If you pre order in the next five minutes, Gamestop will give you a code for the Deception graphics expansion beta next December.

textures will be less crisp, less stuff will be going on in the background, less lighting and particles, and the gore tech will be from MK 9.

I imagine X Rays will look like MK9, and fatalities will most likely take place over a black background like MK9, as opposed to on the stage like next gen.

They havent shown any gameplay for the old gen, because NRS isnt making it, they are letting another company port it.

It definitely wont be as smooth or as crisp as the new gen version, and will most likely be lacking on certain features.

True yes, thankfully i made my ps3 have the best picture. Let me tell you this guys, if fight round 4 and god of war ascension had really great graphics and they look beyond realistic then i'm sure The other developers are taking there time and using a highly customized version of unreal engine 3 wisley. I'm having faith and i hope it will look amazing and very close to looking like ps4 version. The xbox360, people will have problems because the xbox360 will be hard to make it up to the line 1080p and 60fps but for ps3 it will be easier for them. Guys isn't it just sad to see people not trying hard to make a game equal to next gen consoles? think about the people and me always having bad graphics for the next 3 years or so then we can finally afford a new gen console. I wasn't very worried about the graphics when they started showing gameplay of Mortal Kombat X. But now i hope we get to see realistic textures such as idk if you guys have seen it but while the character is fighting he can swet, and in the jungle level you can get all wet and muddy. That feature made me so interested and giving my hope for that to be on last gen consoles. Now i did a comparison of assassins creed black flag, wouldn't be the same for Mkx and maybe a little better than that? cause when i did the comparison i can still see the wet feature while that guy is swimming and crawls to the sand beach to stand.

If a seprate studio is working on last gen consoles, doesn't that mean they could take their time the same as people creating the next gen consoles? If neitherealm studios was working the last gen consoles aswell that means they could not take their time well and there would be an issue. Ed boon i seem him serious about the last gen consoles. He's worried about the gore tech and how will he do that on last gen consoles then he said in another serious way, "BUT HEY if we can't do it we don't care we are going to do the best thing we can. Last but not least he said another information, " we have not seen the final version for the xbox360 and ps3, I'm sure it will look really nice but the best looking ones are going to be the xbox one and ps4.

The new generation of consoles have pretty much ushered in the law of diminishing returns, graphically speaking. If they are truly dedicated to keeping the ports running at a constant 60fps there will definitely be cutbacks to the graphics and animations but they won't be nearly as drastic as comparing a PS2 game with a PS3 game.

I say look to the Injustice and MK Vita ports to get a rough idea of what will have to be cut to maintain the 60fps on the last gen versions. The MKX ports should look no worse than the last MK game. Probably should look a little better actually.

The game will most likely be running at a native 720p or lower compared to the new-gens 1080p. There will be lower res textures. Maybe lower polygon counts on the characters themselves (though if done correctly we shouldn't be able to tell where they are lower in polys). Lighting will be less realistic. Particles will be paired down. Some backgrounds may be missing elements. Things like that.

Keep in mind all these things will be sacrificed if they indeed care about keeping it a constant 60fps. I'm thinking NRS mandated to the team doing the ports that a 60fps inline with what Injustice and MK2011 had, so most likely all the visual bells and whistles will indeed be paired back on the older consoles.

But this also brings up another reason that having to pre-order to play as Goro is complete bullshit! They're basically asking all the fans that have to get the 360 and PS3 versions of the game to blindly drop $60 of their hard earned money on a product they haven't received any updates about, nor even seen so much of a screenshot about.

If i had to get the 360/PS3 version I would not blindly drop money on this port when we know next to nothing about the quality of the port. Are they focusing on gameplay and a smooth 60fps? Are there going to be missing gameplay features compared to the new-gen? Are they focusing more on graphics, sacrificing a smooth framerate for a better presentation?

These are things people should be asking instead of blindly pre-ordering the game like sheep just because "it's Goro". All pre-orders do at this point is help out the financial analysts at WB.

I don't think it will look bad, but there will be very clear diffences in the last gen vs. current gen versions. From the sounds of it the gore-tech will not be the same for last gen. PS3/360 can't handle it. Graphics does not make the game, but there will have to be some serious sacrifices to keep the game at 60 FPS on last gen. Look at the PSVita version of MK9...still a lot of fun but those visuals are rough up close.

Not to sound like a prick, but once I moved my gaming habits from the PS3 to the PS4, it's been hard to go back. Not just graphically, but the interface, chat, lots of cool stuff. As long as gameplay is fun I'm down for it, but for a game like MKX I think the visuals are really going to make you want to make that jump to current gen.
