A dutch site has released some informations about Mortal Kombat - HD Arcade Compilation. The game contain the first three chapters of Mortal Kombat with a graphic upgrade and compatibility with 3D. There will be also a playable demo of Mortal Kombat. The compilation will come out on November 2010 and at the price of 30€ only on PlayStation 3.
"This PlayStation 3-only collection gathers the first three parts of the Mortal Kombat series on a Playstation 3 disc. These three parts are upscaled to HD quality and are playable in 3D for the best Mortal Kombat experience! In addition, there is on a disc a playable demo of Mortal Kombat 9, the new Mortal Kombat game that is expected in 2011."
"upscaled in HD quality" is french for "crap quality", similar to how MKII currently is on PSN. The Street Fighter HD remix however... now that was something....
So my hope is whether they will: 1. use the original footage which must be on film so it can be remade to HD. 2. re-cast new actors and follow similar procedure as back then to re-do everything from scratch.
A simple upscale however, like what they did with God of War or Sonic Genesis collection is nothing more but a big fat and smelly doo-doo PHAIL...
