Hey guys..I haven't posted here in a while, but I love all the old characters that made the series what it is today. With that said, since they wanted to start off fresh after Armageddon, I want to propose that it would be kinda cool to have a Prequel..kinda like the MK Conquest Series

I don't like it when they introduce new characters that just take up space and are really lame. I'm not a fan of characters that came after MK4 besides maybe Quan Chi, Reiko, Kenshi, Kira and Li Mei. So they should limit the number of new characters that they introduce and just keep more of the iconic ones.

If this game were a prequel, we can really get into dept on how certain characters became what they are.

These are the candidates:

The Great Kung Lao

Scorpion

Sub Zero

The Assassin Kitana

Mileena

Shao Kahn

Reiko

Raiden

Shang Tsung

Quan Chi

Prince Goro

Reptile

Rain

Baraka

Ermac

*NEW CHARACTERS*

Scorpion's Wife

The Lin Kuei Grandmaster

A female hero: I was thinking maybe one of Shang Tsung's Slaves who sides with the good guys.

A Shadow Priest

thats it for new characters!

But yea, just an idea =)

I've had more than my fill of the majority of Mortal Kombat's "icons" to be honest.
If they're to make a game about the Great Kung Lao's time, they couldn't have Scorpion or his wife. Least, not the Scorpion we know.

A prequel wouldn't be a bad idea if MK vs DC didn't come out. Right now I think most people just want a real MK game and the next chapter in the story, and personally I really want to see what happened after Armageddon.

Yes. I love that idea as well.

The idea reminds me of how the 2004-2009 Battlestar galactica series is a re-imaginining of the 1970's battlstar galactica. Or how the utlimate marvel comics line-up is a reimagining of the regular marvel universe.

This is the best approach. It gives us a new perspective on a familiar universe. Have most of the old and classic characters return wih minor tweaks in their bios. New characters should be kept to a maximum of 4. I agree with the thread starter....most of the new characters i dont care about.
