I have an idea for the sequel of MK9. It is a beat'em up mode where fighters fight factions. Like Black Dragon, Lin Kuei, Zombies, Cyborgs, etc..... It will start off in 3d gameplay that allows the player to walk around and fight until they reach the boss. Once the boss is reached the gameplay goes back to 2d gameplay. You can perform a fatality in this mode. It should be similar to tekken force because I like playing that on all Tekken games. I always wanted to see mortal kombat the same way. All characters will be playable in this mode. It will have a story behind the matches as well. The bosses will be leaders of the factions. Like Sub-zero-lin kueis, Baraka-taratakans, reptile-lizards(whatever), and Quan chi-dead souls. The mode would be called Kombat Mode.

That would be pretty cool. I'd vouch for that. But wasn't Shaolin Monks basically the same thing?

Yeah it was, but I talking about using it for MK fighting games like Tekken uses Tekken force for all their games. It will still be a fighting game no matter what but with a beat'em up mode where you can play any fighter like tekken force it will sell off the rack.

I've preached this shit years ago ever since MKA's terrible Konquest mode.
I'll sign this petition with my own blood.

This could actually solve a lot of problems that some people had with story mode. Instead of just beating down Reptile and Baraka over and over you could just fight off nameless henchmen. I'm for the idea but I'm curious how switching between 2d and 3d gameplay would work.

Simple it starts out in a 3d gameplay for the character to free roam to fight off 5-6,7-8,9-10, faction warriors. The boss will drop from above, do their introduction, and the screen goes to 2d gameplay to fight. If you look at the story mode stages and background during the cutscenes, it is a 3d enviroment. That is how the players should fight the factions.
