DLC. This isn't Capcom. As much as I love Mortal Kombat I wouldn't continue rebuying the same game over and over no matter how many adjectives they add in front of it or after it.

I'd take an Ultimate Edition but only if it didn't just add kharacters.

If they added at least 4 chapters to Story Mode and at least 4 Stages

I really think that we're going to still get Baraka, Rain, Sindel & either Corrupted Shinnok or Fujin and they won't cost $30

So 2 new characters vs 4 + new characters including Baraka, Rain, and SIndel? Ill take UMKX.

Do trophies carry over though? ;) I am not trying to get some of those trophies over again lol

Technically we're already getting an Ultimate version because we all know they'll release a Komplete Edition like they always do. My thing is though, if you're going to release the game again, why not add more new characters, stages, and costumes?

I say UMKX but more DLC is realistic.

Who in their right mind is taking just 2 DLC in this choice? Even if you only meant the playable ones, that's still 2 vs.7. (4+Baraka, Sindel & Rain)

By the time you bought 7 characters worth of DLC, you might as well just be buying a new game.

To be fair though, if all those people were on the default roster from the get-go, I wouldn't have half the problem I do with this game. I'm not unhappy with MKX by any stretch, but... the roster was very lackluster and safe.

In any event, I don't really care how they do it, I just want more characters. I eat MK up, can never have too many imo. I'd like to see a few curveballs too though, frankly. Not just a selection of people we already saw in story mode. More Tremors, to go with the Tanyas, if you get my meaning.

Noob is literally tied for characters that have the absolute least relevance to the mkx story or comic. Why him? OMG HE'S A NINJAAAA, but he's tied with meat and mokap for relevance st this point in the story. I repeat, why him?

Also your suggestion would require 10+ additional dlc characters. I'm not saying it's impossible, but right now it is questionable if we're even going to get a single skin after tremors release.

I'd say my vote would be for Ultimate MKX.

Base roster + Jason, Tanya, Predator and Tremor + Rain, Baraka, Sindel, Fujin, Kabal and Smoke.

I'm actually saving my money for 'Ultimate' MKX.

I would love to have more characters in it like Frost, Sareena, Fujin etc.

I would also prefer that all the supposed mobile 'unlock' costumes be available from the start in 'Ultimate' MKX as well coz that stuff isn't working for a lot of us and it's not fair that they implement a broken system over and over again.

We'll be doing this anyway should they announce a second Kombat Pack, granted it's still $29.99. So that's $60 for 8 characters and 30 skins when the Komplete Edition will sell for the exact same price, but will obviously include the vanilla roster.

As for the topic at hand, I'd choose the Ultimate Edition and hope for additional content besides characters. Arenas, game modes, costumes, expanded Krypt/story mode, ect.

Li Mei
Baraka
Rain
Sindel (Meh, why not?)


Maybe Havik & Reiko too. That's about it But I'm not expecting much else.

If they were to release an "Ultimate MKX", I'd inititally flip them off and piss and moan about them cashing in, but would then buy it if it meant 4 - 6 new characters, new arenas, all DLC in from the start, and new modes (bring back 2 on 2!)

It really depends are we talking like marvel were they made a whole new game or are we talking like what they did in the past? Cus making a whole new game is just giving another middle finger to the people who supported them from the start and that would make them no better. I'm not buying sf 5 right when it comes out cus it obvious they are going to make another. I don't want to treat mk the same way.

Based on the previous two NRS games the timeline will go something like this:

Release game.
Release mobile version that links to game (and has stupidly exclusive content)
Release DLC & patches etc.
After all DLC has been made, release 'komplete'/'ultimate'/'super duper' (whatever you want to call it) edition featuring all DLC previously released on one disc (including mobile exclusive stuff).
Release PS vita version with slightly more content than on console rendering that version IN"komplete"



Me too. If Injustice's model will be followed, then that will happen and all the previously unattainable stuff will appear on the ultimate version. I only just bought Ultimate Injustice and i love it. Finally i can use the Yellow Lantern costume that actually appears in story mode, the cute Harley costumes, and the million Supes, Batmans, WWs and Jokers.

Ironically it DID work out a lot cheaper to re-buy the entire game than to buy DLC separately (not that i would have been able to do that anyway).


What about the non- online community?



Based on previous releases, yes. The trophies/achievements carry over. Your save file is the same and the game registers as the same (just updated with the 'extra' content included).

I'd buy an Ultimate edition just for tag.

I chose to not buy the game for this very reason. I know they will release a future version where I can get both the game and all the DLC for the price of one.

The cheaper option and plus you don't have to wait for it to finish downloading. From now on I always wait for the complete version with the DLC included for free.

They should do a 2nd dlc wave with: Noob, Sektor, Cyrax, Fujin and a few stages (4?)

After that they should release the KE an dthen I'll buy it hahahahaha
