Many of us watched the Trailer from Kano and saw the aligator in the Background. I don't know if someone posted it already, but there is also an animal in the snow forest stage. It looks like a wolf to me.

watch it at 2:48. it runs from right to left. what could it be?

Chrome you must be forced to stop people on the street frequently for using the term "cool". Words take on new meaning and evolve. Words can be created over time. Words are dynamic, you of all people should know this. I liken "Lycan" (see what I did there?) to a slang term; it has meaning to a vast amount of people.
If you don't know what the term means then allow me to enlighten you friend:
Lycan - A more advanced/evolved species of Werewolf, capable of controlling their transformation abilities.
^Isn't that cool?

I wonder if they are involved in stage fatalities, and if so would that be an animality?

- No, because Hungarian and Slovak is not as conductive to such terminologies. We have our share of linguistic tapdancing though.
- No, because the term lycan was popularized by the movie (series) Underworld what basically shamelessly ripped off the White Wolf role playing world called World of Darkness. Particularly the products Werewolf: the Apocalypse and Vampire: the Masquarade.
Sorry, Crinos form lupines are not lycans.
And no lycans are not used there, it was a damn abreviation because apparently we are akin to shit-flinging monkeys with the attention span of miliseconds as the suffix -THROPE is too complicated for us.
Fuck you American assumptions even though you filmed the movie in Budapest.
I however do punch people who misuse semicolons in their assignments under me. Or writing. Or in speech.

well that's something I was thinking off. Could it be that the animals in the stage's are there for the Animality. It's better then the Anilmality's of MK3.
If that's the case I am wondering what is living in the waters of "the Cove".

It's interesting, it could be the case and yes I wonder what is lurking in those waters
Seems strange to animate something like that in a background and not use it

Still you cannot deny the impact the movie has had. What better outlet is there for creating new words? It is not too hard to see why the word has gained an international following.
I suppose you would rather we halt any further evolution of word-play. Do not be recalcitrant Chrome. Then again, perhaps you are supremely stubborn or merely immutable.

Why would it be strange to animate something in the background and not be used? It's done all the time. It's just a nice detail and adds some life into the backgrounds. Not everything in there needs some gameplay attached to it.
Although it would be nice to have that animal as some kind of stage fatality.

@Arie
That is an awesome speculation! That would be a very interesting twist on the classic anamality. And it would not be so LAME as the original; in fact, it would be quite bad ass.
Oh man, I WONDER if there is something in the water's of the Cove level. Maybe a shark-like creature, or perhaps the rotting (I think they are Saurian) corpses come to life.

This would be a cool idea. However on the other hand, why couldn't animals just be in the background? Especially in a place like the Snow Forest, should it always be vacant? The wolf in that stage reminded me of what they did with the moon in "the pit" stage.

All the animals would work the same, as to ripping the victim to shreds or eating some part of the body or organs. If it was to be like that, then what would be the point?
NRS has brilliant minds and can possibly make them different.
Just hoping that the snowy forest is a stage fatality with the wolf.

A wolf in the woods, wow, it's basically nothing. I'm sure each stage is going to have things happening in the background. Just like MK9 did. It doesn't mean they'll be fully interactable or used in a stage fatality.

The word would be lycanthrope aka werewolf. Lycan wasn't used until the movie Underworld, my assumption was to shorten Lycanthrope ( not to be confused with clinical lycanthropy). Couldn't stop myself Edit: oops didn't notice Chrome had beat me to the punch But on another note hopefully the animals have some play in stage fatalities

Isn't Underworld still the ONLY franchise in the world that uses the term "Lycan"?
Like, I've never heard of it catching on in other things. The only time I hear it used outside of that one shlocky movie series is people on the internet who are fans of that series.
Y'know I like looking at Kate Beckinsale in a latex catsuit as much as anybody, but that doesn't justify basically trying to force a meme.

Who's trying to force a meme? I just lycan the word is all. ;)
Also, +1 internet points for you for bringing the image of Kate Beckinsale in a latex catsuit to mind. Thank you, sir.
