I don't know if this has been discussed earlier but I still want to talk about this.
The way MK9's story mode ending is perfectly suited for an MKSM style adventure game that will be of course canon and will continue where MK9 ended.
Why?
-Only two good characters still alive (excluding Raiden, since he would have the same role as he had in MKSM).
- Two characters who are related together and get along well : coop possibility.
- Ed Boon said many times he is interested in creating a new MK adventure game.
- NRS and a bunch of the fans are interested into the "love" relationship between Sonya and Johnny (we can clearly see it in the MK9 story mode). Having a follow-up story between these two would be perfect in a coop game.
- More than the half of the roster is dead. They can't magically resurrect them from the beginning of the game. This pretty much means Sonya and Johnny would try to kill Shinnock ,who possesses an artifact capable of resurrecting MK9's fallen warriors.
