First off:

We're in the 21st century... using the same technology they did on MK1 is like asking to go back in the prehistortic life and bringing back a real life dinosaur.

They will never do something like that. Not to mention, if they were going to remake MK1, they wouldn't be adding new characters in it, otherwise it wouldn't be called MK1 anymore.

Not to be rude, but this is a pretty pathetic thread. And define "Resection for me please?

I would not put new characters. The new moves could be a good idea.I agree with you. They should make an arcade perfect version of MK1 for maybe next-gen systems (PS3,X360,I don't 'bout Wii) and should sell from maybe $5-$7 just like MK2 for PS3.I like your idea as mentioned in other threads.

Well all this old account stuff aside.

I think they could remake MK1 and do it well. Don’t reuse the same sprites though, it would be pointless to remake the game in 2D again, take it to 3D.
Implement a hand to hand fighting engine somewhat like Tekken, only a little more MKishly stylized, and throw in a weapons system somewhat like Soul Calibers, though a little more balanced and thought out. Special moves are obviously a must and could be what set the game apart from the other 3D fighters, I would like to see a plethora of special attacks for each character, with each attack having a purpose and implanting a strategy to be utilized during combat, a reward and consequence to each special attack.

Stages could be redone and have interactive elements for example-The Courtyard could have the spectators throw weapons onto the stage, The Pit could have the occasion dying worrier climbing his way up and grabbing your feet when your by the edge. Some new arena’s would also be needed.

As for new characters, I think some would make perfect sense. Ermac could be a playable character since he was sort of in the original game. Kenshi could be there attempting to kill Shang Tsung. I’m sure there could be characters that could fit into the story without feeling like fillers.

Don't forget games like Capcom VS Snk 2 (2001), Capcom Fighting Jam (2005) and Street Fighter Alpha Anthologies (2006)....

Okay, well I don't think they should re-make MK1 necessarily. The thing I loved about MK1, was that it was pretty much the only one to strictly follow the whole "tournament" style thing. Where, the entire plot, revolved around this one tournament. Yah, that would be awesome.
