I remember reading/hearing this somewhere but completely forgot about it.

maybe Shang Tsung is one of the 2nd Pack characters? There's a LOT of hints of him coming back,in story,gameplay,and arcade endings. If he's not DLC,he most likely will be in MK11. Though,if he's dlc here,that wouldn't be completely surprising: He's the only MK1 character not to return,so far. makes sense adding him later.

Well, there's already klassic costumes coming for Kung Lao, Liu Kang, Jax, Sonya, Kano, and Quan Chi with the kombat pack.

That sounds excellent, I'm definitely looking forward to those costumes.

I think the mk1 tower is going to be a premier living tower like the lost Shokan is now, if you look through the locked backgrounds on your cards they have ones listed for mk1 through mk4 I think it was,
looks like you'll get those card sets for beating the towers as they come up

Mine were static pictures of Goro (who I don't think is even available here outside of having a redemption code 'cause clicking him comes up with an "not found" error) and the living towers. It started to change last night and become animated.

It's possible MK1 is a premier tower however I wonder why they're teasing it now? I'm pretty sure the Jason one is going to come first so people can try out the DLC before it's released next Sunday. It would be cool though, to have one for each game, even though there's a lot of missing characters.

It is a premier tower, boon tweeted about it a while ago showing the mk1 Background you get.

So then I'm guessing the tower will just be everyone but Shang Tsung. Interesting. Would be cool if they could toss in Shang as an NPC fighter utilizing his MK9 moves but I doubt they'd go that far. Would be a nice surprise if they manage it though as one of those "secret" tower fights.

It will be interesting to see how they pull it off.

I mean, the only character missing from both MK1 and 2 is Shang Tsung, which they could possibly pull from MK9. Baraka was in story mode, so with Shang that would complete the MK2 roster. But MK3 will be missing like half, with only Sindel currently available, and I seriously doubt they will go to the effort to create Motaro for a boss battle.

MK4 is missing like 4 or 5 characters, too.

So I'm guessing the towers will most likely just include the available characters and there won't be any new NPCs. It seems like too much work for something that's only going to be up for a few days.

Next week the premium tower will be the MK1 one then the following week it'll be the Jason one the same week he's released.

Ed Boon confirmed that people who don't buy the DLC will still be able to play the premium towers with the DLC characters.

Seems more like it's just an excuse to re-sell the classic MK arcade game.I don't see anything regarding a tower setup, but it's clearly showing an arcade cabinet.

That shit would be so cool. If the MK1 tower has Kano, Cage, Sonya, Liu, Raiden, Sub, Scorpion, Reptile, and Goro as the "boss" of the tower, then when you beat him you actually fight Shang Tsung, a NPC version of him though, probably ripped from MK9 and slightly redesigned similar to how they did with Baraka and Rain in this game.

Reptile could theoretically be that hidden living tower battle in this tower... from the achievement. Possibly.
