do you have any idea how hard it would be to make a worthy concept of MK vs SF? im not saying that it's not going to happen.... but with the limitations of both games, i dont think its' going to be made anytime soon.

Not going to happen now.

With all said, the Japanese first need to be interested in Mk, and not on just the peripherial demography of a peripherial demographical populace.

MK is far from what the Japanese consider acceptable. Gratuituous violence isn't something that the Japanese like, even with archetypical manga/anime/live action stuff such as the Guyver, Berserk, Genocyber, etc.
Japanese don't play visually realistic non-exaggerated violence for laugh's sake either, most of the time it is stylized.

And MK isn't subtle.

Inevitable? No. But I think that now that they have seen how MK is a solid fighting game I think that it would be more likely to happen. But not anytime soon.

Nah bro...

SF is way too in-depth of a fighter. It's mechanics will not work well with the simplicity of MK.

Either MK has to step up or SF has to go down a peg... and those Japs will not let NRS destroy their characters like that. What makes it worse is that MK is a violent game. SF has all these beautiful colors and goofy looking environments. It's almost as bad as Soul Calibur. It's just as bad as a mix as DC Universe.

MK vs SF belongs here, there, and in MUGEN.

If they can pull it off, I'll shit a brick.

This I know, but not the point I was making.
Point is: MK vs SF doesn't seem likely and belongs in fan fiction.

Dumbing down: apparently a spear is the same weapon as an axe according to Oblivion.

Looking forward to bugs. Looking forward to this game, though.

Soul Calibur? ... nah, MK needs to take a few more year's worth of a break from weapon combat.

Killer Instinct? Yes.

A LOT of people loved KI... since so many things are going retro (Hollywood especially) the video game industry should follow and awaken the kids in all of us. Bring back KI!

i prefer killer instinct. they connect better in terms of art style and violence.
also could this revive KI and bring us eventually KI 3 for the next gen consoles.

I hope not, their differences are so striking that it would require too much sacrifice from both parties for the game to even work and if a cross over game is done, it needs to bring out all the defining qualities of each franchise.

Crossover games only work if there's a much more unifying theme aside from just both being fighters and shooting projectiles.

If MK does a crossover, it should be with another mature series with gameplay that is more accesible, like MK.

Street Fighter seems to be right on track with their crossovers, Tekken and Street Fighter can easily work well together, similar humor sometimes and similarly intricate gameplay.

That's what MK needs to do, run with a crossover with a series that has more in common with them than just the fact that they're both fighting games.

I think eventually they'll give in. Ono does have a bit of an ego, maybe when he's not in charge of SF anymore they'll probably take another look at it.

I would like to see it. Each company could do a version of the game and it would be cool if there was no limitations...

i think it will eventually happen but i'd wish it were to happen sooner.

i agree that the companys should make 2 different versions
1 super violent. (mk vs sf)
1 toned down. (sf vs mk)
1 that has a more cartoonish look. (sf vs mk)
1 that has a more realistic look. (mk vs sf)

it would sell fantastic. the mk version could use the same gameplay as mk 2011. the sf version could use the same gameplay as sf4 arcade edition.

Just like Tekken vs SF and there will be SF vs Tekken.

Mortal Kombat needs to be original with their path forward and stop doing what others are doing. Originality is what made MK successful. MK has to stick with it. Do something no one has done already. THAT sells better than being a "copy cat."
