MK vs DC Sequel Idea
I was playing the game the other day for some nostalgia and to prep for the new MK and I got to thinking. I had an idea that I think would make for an interesting sequel. It's not complete or perfect but anyway...
First though, I want to set something straight. I personally enjoyed this game. It wasn't a great MK game necessarily, but it was an entertaining game and was worth a good play. The story was interesting, the tie-in of DC was pretty well done and it played well. That being said , it's not a deep franchise game and nothing compared to the old MK and what the new MK should be, but still a good game IMO. I know it pissed a lot of MK purists off, but I still think it was good.
Now, to the idea....
For the story, it has to have a similar feel to the last one. Universes colliding, all existence is at risk, etc. Shao Kahn and Darkseid have been banished and should stay that way. They will have no presence in the story of this game.
The time the universes spent together have proven to, over time weaken Raiden for an unknown reason and psychically link Liu Kang with The Flash (a couple of combined endings).
Looking through the arcade endings for ideas, I linked a few that would fit well for a deep story. Lex Luthor uses the portal technology from the first game to re-open a localized connection with the MK universe. He forms an alliance with Quan Chi. With Luthor's help, Quan Chi obtains Kryptonite which he uses to give Raiden his power back, but at the cost of giving his allegiance to Quan Chi. I.e., this brings us Dark Raiden.
Quan Chi and Luthor create a pyramid on Oa, which attracts Sinestro. Sinestro is talked into joining them. They put together a team of villains with some muscle which includes Dark Raiden, Goro, Quan Chi, Sinestro, Doomsday and Lex Luthor.
Batman detects the new anomalies and pulls the DC heroes (and villains) together one last time. The Flash contacts Liu Kang and calls for the help of the MK heroes once more.
From there, I don't have a full plot. But that's the basic storyline.

good plot i think that would probably be how NRS would do it, since all the endings seems to work together after the events in story mode so now im thinking the story mode would be instead of choose DC or MK story playthrough its heroes or villains since now the DC and MK heroes know they aren't against each other

And What would happen to your story if when The Flash called Liu Kang, his phone was dead and went straight to voicemail. Then Kang couldn't find his charger so he had to order a new one. And in a week when it arrived it was already to late and Every Villan Is Lemons already destroyed the place?

As above really. The psychic link between Flash and Liu Kang is silly.
The Quan Chi + Luthor alliance is a must for a sequel.
That should be the only real canon ending from the first game apart from the Darksied and Shao Kahn ones.
Other than that. That's it. I would rather have Superman and Raiden and co fight against a Shao Kahn and Darkseid desperate to become Dark Kahn once again and experience the ultimate power again. (Not ripping off Brainiac and Luthor from Justice League at all)
Roster wise should at least be 22 on 22 hot superhero on ninja action. I.e. double the first MK Vs DCU. might have a half decent roster then.

Prior to MK9 (when Raiden rewrites history), but after MKvDC (where Darkseid and Shao Kahn were trapped in the wrong universes). Quan Chi, once more trapped in the Netherealm in a Kahn-less world helps Darkseid escape, and together they develop the ability to travel between universes.
Shao Kahn is caught up in a DC jailbreak with Gorilla Grodd and Lex Luthor, and is admitted into the Injustice Society. He strong-arms his way to take over and uses their magical resources to help contact the other universe. Eventually Kahn and Darkseid make contact with each other, revealing their intentions to become Dark Kahn again.
Kahn's contacts many of his close advisors (Goro, Reptile, Kano) and they agree to travel with Quan Chi to the other world and help with the merging. The Shirai Ryu (Scorpion's undead clan) overhear of this scheme, and Scorpion relays the message to Johnny Cage, who attempts to form a group to stop the merging. They eventually manage to get Raiden and Liu Kang onboard.
Notes - there are 22 men, 22 women, 22 DC characters, 22 MK characters, 22 'good guys' (fighting against the merger), 22 'bad guys' (fighting for the merger/their master). Dark Kahn might show up again, as the final boss, with Darkseid and/or Shao Kahn as the sub-boss.
Some powers
- Aquaman - water-based combat. Can drench opponents/command sea creatures to attack in special moves.
- Batgirl - can release a smoke bomb which will blind (stun) their opponent briefly.
- Deadman - limited invisibility, teleportation
- Flash - fast
- Hawkgirl - Mace, limited flying, wing attacks
- Martian Manhunter - invisibility, limited intangibility
- Supergirl - limited flying, ice breath
- Superman - limited flying, heat vision, strongest character
- Wonder Woman - Lasso tricks, strength
- Zatanna - sorcery
- Bizarro - spinning, strength
- Brainiac - hypnotism (stun)
- Cheetah - animalistic
- Darkseid - strength
- Giganta - can grow and shrink, a little bit
- Gorilla Grodd - he's a gorilla
- Harley Quinn - similar to Joker
- Lex Luthor - no Power Suit this time, but he has access to power-draining abilities (weakens opponents), in the form of Kryptonite and Kryptonite radiation.
- Poison Ivy - plant-based abilities
- Star Sapphire - similar to Green Lantern
- Talia - whip
Plus - Konquest Mode where you can play as Khameleon, traveling the realms/worlds, investigating the situation, and occassionally sparring with (and learning moves from) heroes and ninjas you meet along the way.

DCU - Harley Quinn, Lobo, Sinestro, Black Adam, Gorilla Grodd, Circe, Power Girl, 3 more and either Bane or Doomsday.
So you would have the 22 guys from the first game.
