ASHRAH:

Well well, Ashrah is a pretty good character. One of the best that were intorduced in Deception. Her story was very unique and fresh and she was very good gameplay wise. I'm a fan of her's, she rocks:

ASHRAH'S ARMAGEDDON ENDING:

The power of Blaze purified Ashrah completely; She was transformed into
a being of divine light. Her radiance soothed even the darkest
of souls.

With new purpose, she traversed the realms in search of evil passifying
the wicked. Her mission came full circle when at last she purified
the sorceror who would have her slain: Quan Chi.

Ok, this ending starts off pretty good but goes silly when we get to the Quan Chi part. I'm sorry but that's why i think it's not wise to make this ending come true.

PROS AND CONS OF ASHRAH:

The PRO'S:

She's fresh,new, and original.

The CON'S:

The whole purifying act can get old very quickly, so please, if you decide to bring her back, please make sure you add something new for her. She's a good character and i'll hate to see her go stale.

SHOULD ASHRAH RETURN FOR NEXT GEN?

YES!!! Weather it's MK8,MK9 or whatever, she needs to return for next gen MK games, She's too good of a character to go to waste.

BARAKA:

An MK classic, Baraka is a good character. But the whole "i always serve my masters like a good boy" act needs to go. He needs to be his own boss and get a new and fresh change.

BARAKA'S ARMAGEDDON ENDING:

With the power of Blaze within him, Baraka would never again serve
another. Summoning Shao Kahn and Onaga before him atop the pyramid,
he gave them a choice: submit to Lord Baraka or die.

They responded by attacking the Tarkatan. In a flash, Baraka ́s blades
grew twice their normal length and pierced his former masters
through their hearts.

Flinging their bodies down the side of the pyramid, Baraka turned his
attention to a more important matter: Who would be his queen? He gave
Mileena a choice. She chose wisely.

Ok ok, i love how Baraka is his own boss, thats great. But i don't think the whole entire ending should come true. I just think the part where Baraka becomes his own boss should be made cannon for the next gen games.

PROS AND CONS OF BARAKA:

PROS:

Baraka is truly evil, he feels truly evil, very good. He's a true villain, love it.

CONS:

I stated it before, let him be his own lord and boss, because if you guys keep giving him masters to serve his character will get boring(almost there).

SHOULD BARAKA RETURN FOR NEXT GEN?

Well, it's up to you guys. Don't have much to say about if he should return or not.

BLAZE:

WOW! He has come a long way since MKDA. He's one of the best boss characters MK has ever had. Even before MKA, he was a very good character. Blaze rocks.

BLAZE'S ARMAGEDDON ENDING:

During his ages-long quest to monitor the realms, Blaze had been
enslaved by Onaga ́s holy men and forced to guard the great dragon egg.

The spell used to control him corrupted his original design. When
his final objective atop the pyramid came to pass he was unstoppable
and defeated all who challenged him.

As foreseen by the sorceress Delia, Armageddon began in the Edenian
crater and spread throughout the realms shattering reality until
there was nothing.

Well we can't let that happen, lol.

PROS AND CONS OF BLAZE:

PRO'S:

He's a true neutral character, he's a badass and pretty original.

CONS:

Umm...can't find none at the momentwink

SHOULD BLAZE RETURN FOR NEXT GEN?

YES!!!! Great character, i loved blaze even before MKA, so he needs to return. Really great character i'll hate to see go to waste.

BO RAI CHO:

He started off as a joke character with a pretty cool story, then he went to a badass character with a great story. I like Bo, but i love how he is in decption/armageddon, in those games he's both funny and serious at the same time.

BO RAI CHO'S ARMAGEDDON ENDING:

Upon defeating Blaze, Bo Rai Cho was transported to the heavens. He
stood before me, a humble warrior unsure of his fate in his presence
of a god. I found that he was a good man and a powerful warrior.

Outworld needed a Protector, a task of which Bo Rai Cho had more than
proven himself worthy. At my request the Elder Gods breathed their
life force into him, transforming the one humble warrior into a god.

Bo Rai Cho had become Protector of Outworld.

Hmmm......potential

PROS AND CONS OF BO RAI CHO:

PROS:

He's original and funny but serious at the same time. Has a great story.

CONS:

My only fear is that he don't become too serious or too funny, right now he has a great balance between the two. And keep his story good and fresh.

SHOULD BO RAI CHO RETURN FOR NEXT GEN:

Yes, great character.

more tomorrow guys.

CHAMELEON:

Well, not too much is known about him, but i think he's a great character. He should be given another chance for next gen.

CHAMELEON'S ARMAGEDDON ENDING:

As the battle raged, Chameleon camouflaged himself and raised to the
top of the pyramid unseen. There he defeated Blaze and the ethereal
powers overtook him.

Immortality was now his! Though he had been ever-present throughout
the creatings of the realms, from Liu Kang ́s first victory to the
return of the Dragon King, he had remained hidden from sight, waiting
for his moment to come. The moment had arrived.

From this day forth, the realms will know Chameleon as the true
champion of Mortal Kombat!

A nice twist i'll love to see come true for next gen.

PROS AND CONS OF CHAMELEON:

PROS:

He's a pretty cool character that i think needs to be developed further.

CONS:

The only cons will be not to bring him back or develope his story.

SHOULD CHAMELEON RETURN FOR NEXT GEN:

Heck yes!!!!!! He needs another chance!

CYRAX:

You gotta love Cyrax! He's a great character!!!!

CYRAX'S ARMAGEDDON ENDING:

When he defeated Blaze, power surged through Cyrax and shattered his
cybernetics. He was human once again. He allied with Sub-Zero and
with him confronted the cyborgs Smoke and Sektor.

In an epic battle of men versus machines, Cyrax and Sub-Zero defeated
their longtime foes.

The cyborgs will be reprogrammed to serve Lin Kuei once again till
they can be turned human once again.

Ok i guess, but Sektor should remain the evil cyborg.

PROS AND CONS OF CYRAX:

PROS:

He's a pretty great character and i can see him in many future MK games!

CONS:

Cyrax needs to get a personalty, he's just so rebotic, lol. Make him human and let him stay that way (and keep him black!!!) lol.

SHOULD CYRAX RETURN FOR NEXT GEN:

Up to you guys, i think he could be great, but its up to you.

DAIROU:

First off, he has lots of potential, and i think he would be great if you guys gave him a way better story .

DAIROU'S ARMAGEDDON ENDING:

The fire of Blaze enveloped Dairou and formed around him a golden suit
of armor. Enraged, Shao Kahn attacked, but the armor scorched his
body with every blow.

Dairou defeated the Emperor and claimed Outworld for himself. Under
his rule Outworld once again became the majestic realm it has been
in ages past.

Because his good nature, Edenia and Earthrealm forged an alliance
with Dairou that would ensure peace and stability for them.

MMMM....Very interesting, i love it.

PROS AND CONS OD DAIROU:

PROS:

He's very interesting and has a ton of potential!!!!

CONS:

Give him a new and better story, QUICK!!!!!!!!!

SHOULD DAIROU RETURN FOR NEXT GEN:

I say yes, him and many other decption charactersneed second chances!

Hmm....
You do realize they're only putting Sub and Scorp in the new games?
But if they were choosing like this, then you make an ok argument.

freakazoid00, they never said 12-16 characters, it will most highly be a minium of 20 characters and a maxium of about 25, mostly new, but with a few classics thrown in just like Deadly Alliance.

Just because Ashrah wears a large hat, doesn't mean that she is a female Raiden. She is totally different from him, and also differebt from any other MK character.

Also, her style and weapon suck? Lol. Why was she the most powerful female character in MKD? I think she was around 6th on the tier list, which is definitely NOT weak considering such characters as BRC, NS and Dairou were counted on that too.

As for her special moves, what is wrong with them. Both her spin moves are awesome and her grab is one of the best in the game. Both her styles are really cool too, and it is great that her weapon pertains to her storyline - again, another factor that makes her different to most characters (obvious exceptions are Mavado, Kabal and possibly a few more).

So yeah... Ashrah > most MK characters.

Also, dont say someone elses opinion is wrong. Someone is allowed to like a character, and just because you dont like that character, it doesnt make them wrong. And if you are going to say some smartass thing about me not appreciating your opinion, that is because you didnt say "In my opinion, Ashrah sucks", you said she just does. I was pointing out that those "facts" were flawed, not that your opinion was wrong.

Sorry to sound mean, but Ashrah is one of my fave characters. wink

come down met,lol!

DARRIUS:

I like Darrius, he's a bad ass, but his story is kinda lame!

DARRIUS'S MKA ENDING:
Upon defeating Blaze, the pyramid shrank and transformed into a golden
ring. The ring granted Darrius access to my vault, wherein lay the
treasure rightfully due to my sons Taven and Daegon.

The powerful artifact allowed Darrius to finally defeat Hotaru and
conquer the realm of Order. But the item were meant only for my
lineage to wield.

I have now sent Taven and Daegon on yet another quest. They must work
together to defeat Darrius and retrieve what he has stole.

Not real bad, but come on midway.

PROS AND CONS OF DARRIUS:

PROS:

He looks great and he's cool

CONS:

STORY STORY STORY

SHOULD DARRIUS RETURN:

Only if he get a better story!

I will now counter your counters.
First,Ashrah is so a Raiden copy-off.She has a large hat, uses lighting powers, and her close are mostly plain white.During her production the staff was going to maker her a female elder god who worked for Raiden(or something like that)
Second,Her fighing stlyes are to weak they do barely any damage. Her sword is way to slow the combos for it suck. Her special moves also barely ever hit and are easily blockable.
Finally, i was not countering his opinion everyone is entitled to his or her opinion and just because someone else states(and has proof to back it up) does not deny there opinion. If someone says that the Earth is mad of Pizza i will say they're are crazy but that does not take away there opinion.

Ashrah has a select group of huge fans(similar to Mokap) who are extremely good with her(how i will never know) and will defend her to the very end of time! Therefore i will not waste my time arguing with you.We have given each of are opinions,so we have no reason to continue this argument PERIOD
May you all have a good daysmile

I kind of disagree with some of the points you have made about the originality of some characters such as Ashrah and Blaze.

If you are to compare Blaze to anyone, it would be Inferno from the Soul Calibur series, Blaze looks just like him. If you are talking about his story, that is another thing. But I feel that Blaze is far from being original.

Characters that are original are the most loved characters in the series. Sub-Zero, Johnny Cage, Jax, Raiden, Scorpion, Kitana, Reptile... those characters are what I consider original. Although they have generic concepts, the Mortal Kombat team developed the generic basis of their characters and added elements to it, thus making it original ex. Reptile is a generic lizard character that has been seen in videogames even before Mortal Kombat, but in Mortal Kombat that lizard character was made into a ninja who combined both aspects of a lizard and a ninja ex. : Reptile's acid spit move, force ball, invisibility, ect.

Ashrah in terms of story, again that is original. But I saw too much of a resemblance to both Raiden and Kung Lao in terms of her looks and special moves. I would have loved to seen Asrah develop some of her netherealm personalities aswell as humanistic traits. Her story implies that she is a demon that seeks redemption, however in the aspects of her appearance I do not see signs of that, her hat reminds me of both Kung Lao and Raiden and her special moves although are not exact to those characters, have the same motion. ex. Ashrah's spin cycle, nature's torpedo. ect.

Ashrah isn't the only one, characters like Kira, Kobra, and Darrius are like a mixed breed between characters like Cage, Cyrax, Sonya, and Kano.

Darrius - The love child of Cyrax and Johnny Cage (If that is even possible.)

Kobra - Johnny Cage's 2nd cousin twice removed who is also the third cousin of Ken Masters from Street Fighter.

Kira - The offspring of Kano and Sonya.

I admit that charcters in the Mortal Kombat universe have borrowed aspects from different cultural icons ex. Liu Kang being based off of Bruce Lee or Johnny Cage being based off of Jean Claude Van Damne. However, I feel that when you base a video game character off of another video game character, especially from a video game character from the same franchise, that right there is a loss of originality and Mortal Kombat fans catch on to that because they have been devoted fans to the series for a long time. Then again, you have to look at what certain fans value, for some they value the gameplay, where one such as I value the concept of the game as a whole. I hope I explained myself well enough to back up my statement.

Except she's not an elder god.
She can't use lightning.
She is GOOD, not EVIL.
She wears white.

I agree with Matthew, the only reason you hate her is cause she wears a big hat, which is why you "think she's the female Raiden." Maybe you shouldn't talk...
