hmm, i can honestly say i've never seen anything like this, however, the idea is strange, if there would be an rpg, you shouldn't be limited to one character, and please, god please don't reference MKSF, it's bad enough that it came out.

I've been intrigued for a while with the idea of an MK RPG, perhaps very similar to BioWare's Jade Empire, where you play as a denizen of Outworld. The story would basically feature you growing up, and making decisions that at first just effect those immediately close to you -- but as you become more and more powerful -- eventually the entire realm.

You would of course have different martial arts styles, different weapons, different special moves and varying Fatalities. The more eternal characters within the Mortal Kombat universe could pop-up. Eventually you could bust Daegon out of Edenian prison, for example, and ask him questions about what has happened. He might even give you a hit-list featuring some retired fighters from the past, who you can go and slaughter.

You have no idea how much I wish I could dismember step-by-step a boss in those Final Fantasy games, then after like half an hour of fightin, he just evaporates? Hell no, there's gotta be some kind of reward finisher...lol

Well i dunno if i would preffer this to an actual fighting MK...
I guess it could be included as Konquest mode...that would be cool

No, no, Shoalin Monks mode, it was in MKD, you had to kill Taven in ChaosRealm, Beat Daegon at a staring contest in Edenia, unlock Liu Kang, and talk to Khameleon in Outworld

I could see it being named like Mortal Kombat Online Adventures or something. I would maybe compare my thoughts to Diablo or even DCU Online.

i actually have had this concept in my head for a long time i would love a full on MK world were you can explore fully like you do in world of warcraft , you choose your race ( reptilian, lin keui, shaolin monk, edenian, choas realm race, outworld race, neatherrealm wraith like scorpion) etc. and like like in WoW all those races you start out in their home world, travel to different realms were those realm are HUGE as well, this can be fully online with other people playing online this way you can team up with other races of people to complete quests and stuff imagine making a party of a lin keui, reptilian, shoalin monk etc. and the game mechanic would be similar to MK shaolin monks but tweeked a little to include leveling up and learning to moves, combos, specials etc.

it would be awesome if done correctly and it shouldn't be to complicated to program to a game system since it'll be like MKSM so the characters would have the basic move sets but like in MKSM just their own styles, and ofcourse when you shoose your race you can customize their looks so you dont look the same as the other people of your race.

Please no MMO's.
Not only would that mean no more normal MK games, but it would mean a lot of fans would be left out - including myself.

If there was an MK MMO then they would spend all there time and effort on making expansions and new content for said MMO, meaning there is very little chance of them ever making another MK game. Just look at how Warcraft turned out. Warcraft is a good game but there hasn't been a single sequel, expansion or patch since WoW was released.

Not to mention you either need to be rich or have way too muich time on your hand to be able to get your money's worth out of an MMO and anyone with a full time job (meaning anyone over 18) shouldn't have enough time.
Seriously, don't alienate a big part of the fan-base just because those who are probably too young to play the game in the first place are wanting something other than WoW to play.

Anyway, if they were going to make an RPG MK game it should be based on Scorpion. It's about time he had one. Sub Zero got one, Lui and Kung got one, heck even Sonya and Jax got one. So why the hell hasn;t THE most popular character of the franchise got one yet???
