MK: Rotf would be a sequel to MK 2011. Although some of the storyline from the previous game would be accepted as canon some of it would be ret coned to allow for most of the previous entries characters to appear in the sequel. Unlike most MK games half of the sequels roster would not be new characters rather returning characters with an updated moves list from MK 2011.

The story would center around Shinnok's pursuit of the amulet, his desire to rule all the realms and to kill the Elder gods. Shinnok would be the main boss(an updated Shinnok anyways), with a brand new sub-boss and Quan Chi to take Shang Tsung's spot as the pre-sub boss. A hand full of characters from MK4 and MKDA would appear in this game with the possibility of more appearing in DLC. Juggernaut characters would appear similar to Injustice and be comprised of characters such as Shao Khan, Goro, Motoro, Drahmin ect.

The story from this game on out would change. The events from Raiden and Shinnok's battle would alter or cancel out aspects of the MK story that have yet to happen. Meaning the Quan Chi might not get the upper hand this time around.

While I have more ideas I guess this is a good start.

I was kind of hoping he would catch on the fact that Quan Chi has the real amulet. I would like them to tell the story behind that amulet in this game, and how they sent Sub-Zero to get it. While I did like Quan Chi's storyline and how Sub-Zero and Scorpion tied into it and how MKDA took this and ran with it, I'd like Shinnok to be a little bit more bad ass this time around.

Bad ass enough to tell his amulet is a replica?

This story idea seems a bit pointless if you want it to center around his pursuit of the amulet. Shinnok would just be chasing Quan Chi for the real amulet instead of worrying about his revenge against Raiden and the Elder Gods.

Remember, now... Shinnok "lost" his [fake] amulet to Sub-Zero in MKM:SZ. Quan Chi would have been the one to inform Shinnok of this being a replica. So Shinnok has no reason to pursue Raiden since he should know it's a fake.

So when you say you want it centered around his pursuit of the amulet, either Raiden steals the real one from Quan Chi (what makes Raiden all of a sudden know which is real and fake?) or Shinnok finds out (some how) Quan Chi tricked him and changes his focus on the sorcerer. I mean that just renders him powerless and not very bad ass. Both scenarios sound stupid to me.

Since Quan Chi indiscreetly wears and uses the amulet it in MK2011, obviously some one has to fucking know where the real one is.

Since Shinnok needs the amulet to escape the Netherrealm in the first place, he has nothing to look for. Even if Shinnok has the fake and Quan Chi has the original, in Shinnok's mind he has it. End of pursuit.

Yeah MK10 needs to be about something other than Shinnok's wild goose chase for his amulet, which BS already made clear, should have already been in the possession of the brotherhood of the shadow.
